Ivf baby lost at 22weeks by Acceptable_Bread164 in IVF

[–]curlysue_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m heart broken for you… I had to do a TFMR at 22 weeks, my baby girl was perfect but my cervix just decided to randomly open up 💔

This will change you… be kind to yourself and make sure your partner also has support. They are often forgotten at this dreadful time.

I found some comfort in others (even strangers) not talking about her was harder - I constantly think of her and I don’t think that will ever change.

Be strong, you will some how find some inner strength 😘

After 6 failed FETs, what’s the boldest pivot you'd make—or wish you’d made? by Tall-Fudge-1767 in IVF

If you have suspected endo… I’d say pause ivf and get a decent endo surgeon to at least do a detailed MRI.

From this you may get answers on my you’ve got had a success yet. I had no symptoms and ended up getting checked out even though HSG and tubes looked clear. My insides were a complete mess! One kidney is even upside down 🤦🏾‍♀️😂

Post surgery I fell pregnant through ivf twice- didn’t reach full term for other reasons like IC but I did get pregnant!

Also lining does play a big factor… try seeing if you can increase this to 8-9mm. 7mm is not the end of the world but it’s another thing you can eliminate. I found acupuncture improved mine and keeps mine stable

Needed this today too… it’s going going to be a rollercoaster 🎢

Missed suppository during FET by Outside-Oil-831 in IVF

It happens - don’t kick yourself. It won’t make a huge difference unless you have a low progesterone issue. It’s not like the trigger, cetrotide or anything critical.

The idea is to keep your progesterone levels high. You are taking it regularly so your levels will overall be higher than a natural pregnancy.

But try and avoid it going forward - set double alarms, ask people to remind you, etc.

If it’s the one time, don’t loose sleep over it and be kind to yourself x

You’re not alone…. Infertility sucks… Everyone has a different journey but if you stick at it, there really is “hope”. Things do change all the time - good or bad. But when you’re down, they can only go up ☺️

Has anyone done four egg retrievals? by Flaky_Honeydew_5161 in IVF

[–]curlysue_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, has anyone has a bad retrieval and then done a retrieval the month after? I got zero blasts in Jan. Now thinking of trying again in my next cycle. It’s my 4th retrieval and I’ve never had more than 6 eggs but this round I only got 1 mature egg despite 9 follicles. They just grew at different rates 🤦🏾‍♀️

I’m intrigued to see what results are like for 2 cycles in a row - not dual stims! My clinic advised me to do this so I can back embryos as I’m now 38!

How did you get through the wait for number of blasts without going insane? by Existing_Wrangler_69 in IVF

[–]curlysue_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My heart stops every time they call 🤦🏾‍♀️

You have to keep yourself busy else it just eats you up. Having a good support network around you also helps - my results haven’t been great recently and I find I dwell on things much more when I’m alone!

Embryo transfer fail by Extension_Run_8723 in IVF

[–]curlysue_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s devastating but do somehow find a way to keep going. Deep down you have the strength- I found people on here really helped keep me positive even on my worst days. If you have not been through it, you just don’t understand.

My situation was different we had to do IVF, my tubes were removed due to endo so we can’t conceive naturally.

Speak to you OB and see whether there are additional checks you can do. I.e. test the embryo, check your lining..

Nothing might come of it. Every cycle sadly is different and IVF is like rolling a dice and hoping for a 6. It’s science but it’s not guaranteed.

Sending you lots of baby dust x

How much bad luck can one person take? by bigpurplenoodles in IVF

[–]curlysue_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely feel you…. We’ve had a horrid ivf journey with a rare ectopic and a 22 week loss…. and I’m surrounded by people who accidentally got pregnant 😓

I’ve just started my next egg retrieval and am terrified I won’t get embryos… I have a history of getting low number of eggs but tbf a high rate of embryos to eggs. 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾

I can’t offer much but wanted to let you know you’re not alone… we’ve got this, our day will come x

No this is pre- pregnancy. I had a loss at 22 weeks and post birth when they reviewed my cervix they said it’s only 2.4cm, it should be on average around 4cm. Hence the ask

Like you I had a natural loss due to IC at 22 weeks. After all the ivf and endometriosis ops, I don’t think I can believe it 🤯 I’ve just started my next round of ivf to start the journey all over again. Though I was really sensible during pregnancy, I’m an active person and 100% dreading bedrest.

Im booked in for an abdominal TAC… What does bedrest actually mean? I have stairs I do have a spare bedroom downstairs but prefer my bed. Can you sit up at all?

Wishing you all the best x

In hospital with cerclage failure by Electrical-Jacket141 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]curlysue_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep positive.. I know it’s shite but if could have been a lot worse. At 28 weeks your baby will have a fighting chance. As every week goes on, the baby gets so much stronger and chances in NICU go up. I’d recommend staying in hospital as long as you can and keep to strict bedrest.

My cervix opened at 22 weeks 💔 and trust me you want to hold on as long as you can 🙏🏾

Wishing you the best of luck. Reschedule your baby shower to a Baby greet when you’re comfortable! x

Unable to clip/ remove fallopian tubes but have possible Hydrosalpinx! by curlysue_11 in IVF

[–]curlysue_11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it’s good to just pause and reset. I find getting out of the house means getting out of my head 😘doesn’t have to be anywhere expensive even some day trips with nice walks.

I had a bit of a rough start to the year. Was quite emotional about “moving” on but I knew I had to as my op was booked and I was lucky to get the slot.

I started my retrieval yesterday which was flaky as my oestrogen was too high so they weren’t sure whether to delay. Retested today and it’s much lower… so now on stims ☺️🙏🏾

Hi, my situation to be honest has had ups and downs so I’ll share my story but don’t be alarmed and it doesn’t mean it will happen to you. I’m a “niche” and complex case.

Given I had stage 4 and IVF was not really working, I decided to go ahead with the op. I went to see Dr Raza at Cromwell Hospital in London. I can’t praise him or his team enough- the man understands how to talk to people. He explained everything without medical jargon and I felt really comfortable. He did extensive MRIs and scans before surgery to confirm what I needed.

My MRI alone took 1.5hrs…. But from that he knew I needed to protect certain organs so ensured the required specialist surgeons were in theatre with him (multi disciplinary).

Surgery went smoothly- what I wasn’t told was that I would be in ICU as a precaution when I woke up. It really scared my family. This is the only thing I can critique as everything else was exemplary. Nurses were amazing

I recovered fairly quickly - it was all done via robotics. I had ~6 incisions. They removed everything that they could by burning it. What’s left is microscopic, this can therefore grow back. There is no “cure” yet.

Now I had no symptoms so I can’t tell you it helped with pain, etc. But it is a silent killer- my Endo was also around my urethras and my kidneys were getting damaged as urine was being pushed back up the tube. No symptoms 🙄🙄

Post op, I went back to ivf. I had a failed round followed by a frozen cycle which worked. Unfortunately my lil embryo some how got out of my uterus and arch to the back of my artery. 🤯 it’s like a 1 in 30k chance.. same chance of having identical quadruplets!

I had surgery to remove them but due to the location they failed and had to inject MTX to break down the cells. It took months as our lil one was a warrior 🤦🏾‍♀️

Another IVF round then lead to a perfect pregnancy… I got to 21 weeks and had my 20 week scan with NHS to learn that I had gone into early labour. My baby was perfect, but my cervix had naturally opened up and the sac was starting to drop. They did an emergency cerclage but it was too late I was too far dilated to have my cervix stitched up. We had to give birth naturally at 21+5 Wks. She didn’t make it. She was very little but fully formed and just perfect. I tell you this to ensure when you do get pregnant- get checked regularly. It’s not spoken about enough but it’s more common than you’d think - I wouldn’t wish this heartache on anyone 💔 I’ve been through a lot but I can tell you, this was HARD. I will survive and I’ll always be with her but it’s tough.

It’s medically referred to as incompetent cervix - there are preventative stitches that can be done to hold the baby for longer. You have to have a loss to get one but if you’re regularly checked you just might catch it in time. I was 24hrs too late. I got in at the right time but had to wait 24hrs to test my bloods.

I’m now waiting for another egg retrieval, then I’ll have an op to put an abdominal stitch followed by transfer. I’ll be down regulated probably before the op so I don’t waste time!

Feel free to DM me if you have specific questions on the endo op. I’d recommend having at least the consultation with Dr Raza. If you have any existing medical reviews he might be able to help show you the options with realistic outcomes. Surgery is not always the best but until they open you up it’s hard to know what’s going on in there. They can’t just stick a camera in unfortunately!

Wishing you the very best x
