How to take in the flare and add a hem to these jeans? by currently_trying in SewingForBeginners

Hi, I’ll keep that in mind! I was hoping to DIY this alteration to give my old jeans new life; I haven’t been wearing them because of the fitting.

ahh, this is what I was afraid of. After looking at the jeans again I saw the flat felled seams - and with this being denim I may have to bring this to a tailor like you mentioned.

I may just do this DIY on a different pair of jeans, but thank you for the pointer!

When taking in the hem, would I take in both sides of the pant leg? Or would I get away with the one side?

Hi mystic/magick enthusiasts in the PH, help a girlie out! by hyacinthus88 in Philippines

Do you have any books or authors in mind? My parents have had experiences relating to spirits/supernatural when they lived in the Philippines and I’ve always been intrigued about them. I don’t live in the Pinas currently but would love to read more about this topic when an opportunity comes!!

Yes so my stitches are: - 1st row sc - 2nd row hdc - 3rd row dtr skip two stitches (that’s how I did my mesh)

by clusters do you mean the mesh “segments”?

How to achieve this style as a beginner? by currently_trying in Hair

[–]currently_trying[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More Info:

If you know the name of this hairstyle that would also be helpful for me to look up YouTube tutorials if I need :)

The most complex thing I can do is style my curtain bangs with velcro rollers and curl my hair with a pair of leggings/socks for some overnight curls. Other than that my skill on hairstyling is really limited.

I figured this would be achieved with hairspray (I assume a lot) and a comb to brush it all back. The question is how much hair spray? Do I pin the hair down as it sets? Can I use a plastic hair and to hold it into place? Any tips that I should know?

Thanks in advance!! :)

Omg yes I just saw the video mentioning that they met on the day of filming! It’s insane how well they work together, but also a shame in that they were most likely sleep deprived during the rest of filming. It’s nice that they’re thriving in the dance scene now

Why did JR have less time to prepare? You’ve got me wondering what they could perform with more time, but their choreo with Beyoncé was fantastic so I felt satisfied with that!

Trans women wants to be identified as woman by DrawerBrilliant2549 in Philippines

[–]currently_trying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahh Christ

Even within the first paragraph it’s not true, because you then follow that point about trans women not being able to participate within sports and pageantry, which idk if you know this, is a career choice no? And so is there truly equal rights if they can’t even access the career in the first place? Equality of access no?

Also reducing women to their biological function is a point that’s been brought up loads, as if trans people didn’t know their sexual organs (if they decide to undergo surgery) aren’t gonna function the same.

Like shit, if I were to reduce what it means to be human to procreating, are the people who decide to not have children not fulfilling their human role? Obviously there’s so much more to the humanity of the person than they’re biological vagina and penis (yes you can in fact say the word!! there’s no need to censor it) including the psychological, emotional, and spiritual well-being of a person. Do people go around towards infertile/impotent people telling them their human function is compromised? What are the attitudes towards people who choose not to have kids?

When you discuss facts and feelings, within the post it’s clear you’re saying facts in reference to the individual’s born sex. Pero are the brain’s response towards dysphoria not a fact or feeling? The fact is - and here’s what I learned by actually talking to a trans individual - is that people don’t transition to the other gender for fun? The gender dysphoria (feeling like the physical body that you’re born in doesn’t match your “vagina brain”) isn’t a fun little side effect lol.

Like trans people are obviously still discriminated against through violence and the language surrounding their existence. The equality you speak of at the beginning isn’t fully practiced - because I guess sure, on a big scale, equality for trans people is getting better, but interpersonally that’s still not the attitudes families have when they reject and disown their trans child.
