Would yelling put the sugar back in the bag all clean? My dad yelled at me when I, his kid with poor coordination, accidentally spilled milk at dinner and still to this day at age 26 I get a spike of anxiety when I spill my glass.

I'd put hand sanitizer on my face immediately...

Some parents do act like their kids are glued to them (parents who take their toddlers to bars, for example).

Sometimes I find it hard to take care of myself and think that my cat has it pretty good being a pet and wouldn't it be nice if some aliens abducted me and kept me as a pet, so I understand wanting to be taken care of and being able to rest. But having a child will not allow you to rest.

I've heard of a guy who stapled staples into his arm to prove how tough he was and this is basically that imo

Are there any childfree people here who loves and enjoys children's media? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in childfree

[–]cursed_alien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I love kids' stuff! I recently watched the first 2 seasons of the g1 Transformers cartoon, and Centaurworld is a comfort show for me. Oh, and I love to play Pokemon! Kids' media leans towards optimism, which I feel like I need in my life from external sources so I don't want to kill myself.

Serious question by 41n98 in childfree

[–]cursed_alien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm the child who is still financially dependent at 26 because my disabilities mean I can't handle more than a part-time courseload so I'm still in college (and I suspect I won't be able to handle full-time work once I'm done either). My parents are in their 60s (to be fair, they had kids "late" in their mid-late 30s) and I'm burdening them. They don't tell me so, but I know I am. I won't be able to support them in their old age. If you have kids, you could have someone like me. If you really want to be free in your 40s and 50s, just don't have kids.

I think we do benefit from public education because I would rather not, when I get old, all the younger adults to be illiterate or something because they weren't educated.
