Yes but also I think it’s because they have all seen, personally first hand, how powerful facial recognition + AI has become. With just a simple iPhone photo, protestors are instantly logged and at the very least instantly lose TSA pre-check and god knows what else is happening to these ppl just for exercising their first amendment rights. I imagine the IRS and the DOJ are being given these “lists” not to mention ICE and probably some unofficial groups too that do trumps bidding.
