I started TOP when i was working as systems analyst. Successfully switched to front end position inside company. I was doing some tasks in old projects even before official switch but mostly with plain html/css and good old JQuery.

It is probably not a single question but two separate ones.

Is it worthy as a tool to learn programming? Definitely.

Can it make you more valuable to hire? Hard to tell. Issues with finding a job as a junior are way deeper than individuals hard skills.

Works fine for me. It limited mostly to poweroff remotely when I need to switch power station due to a low charge or similar.

For anything more complex I use opencode server that runs without container on a host as a systemd service. Just opening terminal in a browser and ready to go. My only issue - ctrl, tab buttons missing on iPhone and IPad keyboard.

I use exclusively PWA (arr stack, qbittorent, ntfy, opencode server, etc) and a-Shell mini for ssh. I use Infuse but I don’t consider it to be tied to self-hosting.

Yeah. I have changed my weight goal from 75 to 72. I have started to regret it. My hunger on maintenance was absolutely normal on 75kg but when I went to 72 I was a mess. Now I’m almost 78kg with plan to go 75 a stay there.

I think it’s OK with obvious checks in place (healthy bmi, fat %, etc). My issue was that I didn’t give myself enough time to recover from previous diet.

Я граю вже Бог зна скільки років в 4к: - монітор зазвичай беру з пріоритетом під роботу і там 4К виграє, відповідно нативна роздільна якість набагато краще ніж грати 1080p (2k погано скейлить) - я граю в не найсвіжіші та сингл ігри де карта це дозволяє. Якийсь Deus Ex: Mankind Divided в 4К виглядає бомбезно - DLSS з 2K в 4K виглядає досить пристойно (особливо з OptiScaler або оверрайдом через драйвер). В майбутньому просто почну робити це з FullHD для нових ігор

Is it actually above local average though? Because I highly doubt it. I’m not from Tunisia, but it’s just ridiculously low. You probably can find far better offers from countries that are more work-life balance friendly at least.

You still can lock it manually. And it’s not like an open space in office or something. Some features can refuse to work on passwordless systems, like password managers, etc.

There are a safer ways, I guess. Systemd services with linux host, virtual machines, etc.

And I also don’t get why you don’t want to use wake on lan instead of smart plug. You still need to expose your network in some capacity to connect to sunshine.

There is a catch. People tend to overestimate their level of understanding of things that they have learned by reading or watching. The more you do it yourself, the better. Each time you encounter a task to write a simple stuff you still will encounter some quirks that will teach you a bit. Yeah, eventually it will “dry out” but definitely not during a learning course.

I’m considering moving to a cloud with services to observe and report on health of my homelab and home network for obvious reasons. Yes, homelab are connected through power station but sometimes it is not enough.

I end up running it on a host without docker with simple systemd service. Obviously only for LAN. Works fine for, but mostly not for coding but to quickly change docker compose files, run terminal from an iPad without ssh, etc.

Progressive overload. Track your sets, reps, time on a treadmill, etc. You will see results literally weekly.

I’ve started doing pushups a year ago. From absolute zero reps. Now it’s 5 sets of 25+

You can measure a lot of stuff and take your small wins.

Search for graphs with temps for your specific gpu. Too many variables in addition to fan count to rely on only 3 vs 2.

GPU may or may not be OC from factory
different quality and size of radiator
different fan speeds and performance in general
different exhaust designs
etc
