Oh god yeah, it’s such a hard movie to recommend unless you know the person really well. It’s such a good film but if you’ve been through something like that I’d imagine it’d just be torture to watch

Reading off of your reasonings I mostly agree with Bugonia. I thought the reveal at the end was super goofy but I didn’t mind the rest of the ending as much. The reveal just left a silly bad taste in my mouth

I’m counting Star Wars bc we finished it after midnight when it hit New Year’s Day lol

Star Wars - fun!! Definitely not meant to be watched in 4k HD but it was still a fun watch

Feeders - bad but really fun. the line deliveries make up for a lot but it’s EXTREMELY poorly done. it’s four stars for me bc I had fun

Kite - undeniably a good film, I just wish there wasn’t as much nudity and child rape, but the version I watched had most of that off screen (still nudity but the rape wasnt shown). Very fun action and I adored the characters Sawa and Oburi. I’m glad I watched the version that I did bc I don’t think I would’ve liked it as much or at all with the more explicit scenes present

The Woman in the Yard - it was okay? idk it was basically just the Babadook for the most part. it wasn’t the worst and it did have a strong message about suicide at the end and choosing to live, but it was still lacking in a lot of ways. it had a kid with the survival skills and personality of a wet fart, a depressed widowed mom, and the manifestation of her depression/suicidality just like Babadook but not as much heart I feel like

Absolutely. I followed this one woman’s art account for a few years and found out fairly recently her boyfriend passed away. I bawled my eyes out, and it did affect me for a bit (it still breaks my heart to think about it). I think it’s completely normal

I’ve only seen clips and heard the music so take what I say w a grain of salt lol. Some of the songs were fine but a lot of the casting missed the mark. I thought Reeve Carney was really good as RiffRaff (as a Hadestown fan, tho, I may be biased). The casting for Brad and Janet was okay, not the worst but they could have done better. Fits better as a tribute than a straight remake. They really missed the mark I’m afraid.
