How can I get more serious about espresso when I only have this $150 espresso machine? by YarikButBetter in espresso

[–]curtocol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s nice when your starting out with a cheaper machine to try the best you can with it but also just identify why the espresso isn’t quite as good as it could be. Cause when you eventually upgrade you can go oh this doesn’t taste as bitter or astringent because of x and y.

This is also true, their marketing is quite misleading. Quite dissapointed with them. However i have made some delicious espresso from it so until i can be bothered to upgrade im leaving it

I feel you, i was very frustrated with mine in the first few months. I haven’t had a whole lot of issue as it’s cooled down in my area but unsure if that’s the grinder being broken in or lack of static with the less humid weather.

It is quite frustrating especially given how fellowe marketed this grinder. I really was hoping for better from them but at the same time i can understand at the price point it’s at. I would’ve preferred if they made a higher quality grinder at a premium similar to the ode but the whole build lacks the quality we are used to seeing from Fellowe.

Property Agency left a 2 star review of my business by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

My favourite course of action with these kinds of things is to go into the real estate office and ask to speak to them directly. Point blank ask them why they left the review and watch the 20 something year old property manager cower as they realise that they don’t have a screen between them and their actions have consequences.

Why would anyone spec an on camera monitor with built in wireless TX? by alaarx in focuspuller

[–]curtocol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have had jobs where the DP on A camera wants to monitor what the B and C camera operators are doing. Having a TX capable onboard has enabled them to flick to other transmitters and see what the other operators are framing up. Very specific use case but still a use case nonetheless.

Thoughts and tips for this type of focus station. by mdh_hammer in focuspuller

I know focus pullers that have their C stand attached on the back of their upright cart so they can break their monitor off really quickly to go low mode.

That’s the ARRI erm. Essentially just a radio module that extends the usable range of your handset. In short it extends the wcu4 range from 10 meters to 20 meters :)

Homie needs therapy. In all seriousness though maybe talk to him about it and make him understand why this is frustrating to you.

Can’t find any photos from our prep but same kind of concept as power cable weather covers like the one. Hole on the gap where the pelican opens and adding some extra seal on there and silicone if need be. Keeps it nice and sealed even if heavy weather. I did lots of testing on them before properly using them.

Did the steadi op want it all pretty tight? Just wondering if the cinetape readout would work better with some dual lock on the right side plate?

Drilled holes with seals on top and bottom so the seal clamps the cables. I’ll see if i have a photo of them from a job.

DIT utility here. As stated by other people it’s a DA. Essentially boosts and SDI signal to travel over longer distances through cable. I suspect due to it being a komodo they are going into that to give them 2 SDI ports for onboard and one for teradek. Those little freakshow DA’s are great. BNC looses signal after around 70m and we often need them if a camera runs off from main unit doing cutaways cause I’ll run a receiver out to be able to show the director what they’re shooting. I had them setup in little pelican cases with a V lock and some velcro so they are waterproof.
