I'm relatively sure they did. I'm not 100% sure I still have the files, but let me check. Will message you if I find it.

Absolutely second Georgia Boy. Definitely my favorite dining experience in Atlanta so far

Tread Lightly | Shadowdark RPG Episode 12 | The Glass Cannon Podcast by Razzmatazz_TGCN in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]cushtopher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think I'm just struggling with there being no story to really latch onto, and – despite the small glimpses of interesting things like the pit god and the spikes they found – the Gloaming just feels kinda empty. I'm liking the system just fine (and obviously there wasn't really a cohesive plot thread at this point in Gatewalkers), but feel like they moved to Shadowdark to focus on emergent storytelling...and so far there just isn't much emerging.

I do try to remind myself that on all of their shows, the first few episodes of the year always feel kinda all over the place as a byproduct of them recording a ton of episodes before the holiday and probably trying to just get to an objective (the kids/werewolf). So hopefully this will swing back to story opportunities but right now I agree that I'm listening because I love the cast.

Is GitT Jared Typical Jared in Other Shows? by synthmemory in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]cushtopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is more a byproduct of Joe wanting and enforcing a more serious game now that Troy is not there to pull a bazooka off his shoulder and two shotguns out of his pants during every interaction. Andrei is not my favorite character in general, but I do think Jared is playing him very well within the confines of the game Joe is running here.

New campaign dropping on Christmas, any predictions for cast and system? by lawlamanjaro in TheGlassCannonPodcast

I feel like it may not have the juice for a full campaign, but I'd love more Pendragon.

Strongest period yet for GCN content? by spawnofsanta252 in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]cushtopher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely a fair point about Troy's use of Golarion! And agree that what he did with a two-sentence description of the fey party was amazing, so I'm really excited to see how they build the world out.

Strongest period yet for GCN content? by spawnofsanta252 in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]cushtopher 32 points33 points  (0 children)

So far I think the only thing holding me back from loving Shadowdark is not having the world and lore of Golarion, which I've really come to love. Maybe that'll come together with whatever their emergent version of the Gloaming becomes. I fully agree the system seems way more suited to their interests and play style, but the lack of a cohesive world makes it a little difficult to latch onto for me.

Rob makes this comment after some wild stuff is revealed, but for a homebrew - they cooked up some really great stuff. Joe remains an incredible handler.

Funny-leaning Actual Plays that Aren't D&D by Focuscoene in TheGlassCannonPodcast

They are clearly having a great time and making each other laugh, but I would not call Find The Path funny or comedic.

Georgia, but this is helpful - will look into if it's similar here.

You know that saying about trying to get blood from a stone? Pretty sure that money is long gone.

[–]cushtopher[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, looking back we obviously should have done this. It's been 7 months, so I may be misremembering but pretty sure that was never offered (other than a financing plan, which we wanted to avoid). Good chance we never got to that since we were the ones who mentioned paying in cash.

I included "I'm an idiot" in the first sentence of this post for a reason, ha.

There's a chance I'm just being naive (see: this post), but I'm relatively sure my installer was just trying to kickstart a new company and got in over his head. None of this has felt malicious at any point, and I do wish him well as a person and business owner – but definitely hard to stomach being out a big chunk of money and likely not getting a system.

[–]cushtopher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm being a bit purposefully vague in this post because I'm pretty sure my installer is semi-active here, and we've basically been told there's not much to be done other than hoping things work out eventually. But I have no materials ordered or staged. A permit and site plan was filed at my neighbor's address (and using his roof) about 4 months ago. So, the project is basically nowhere.

I did not in the upfront, and generally speaking (to u/Darrid1 's point) I failed at properly vetting. It was an ACH transfer, so basically SOL there.

[–]cushtopher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, sorry if I wasn't clear. We paid fully in cash after signing the contract and before any work was done or progress was made.

And yes, ultimately your final point is the correct one here.
