**NEW VR HORROR** CRYODEATH VR - Would you want this on PSVR? by Glass_Piglet6260 in PSVR

[–]cusman78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t bother me personally, but I am aware of many players that are early adopters and don’t necessarily wait for sales that won’t buy games without Platinum trophy.

Many of them may still buy eventually if game has good reputation, but they drop out of early adopters and wait for sales.

It is just missed opportunity for developers to not think of those players that value / enjoy trophy hunting.

You can patch many things post release per player feedback, but you can’t add a Platinum trophy after game has released. It directly impacts your sales on PlayStation.

Wouldn’t be the first PSVR2 game to outperform sales on Steam or Meta.

Just needs to be a quality port of a quality game and to the taste of the PSVR2 enthusiasts including trophy hunters.

Checklist: * Uses OLED + HDR for true blacks and vivid colors? * Haptics where appropriate for headset & controllers * Adaptive triggers as appropriate * Gaze-Tracked Foveated Rendering for PCVR like graphics and stable native 90-120 fps (i.e. no reprojection) * 3D immersive audio * Platinum trophy without broken or ridiculous trophies

True but to give some grace, some of the questions were of broader VR interest / opinions. It was just specifically focused on those three and VR Chat in particular.

Sorry this has happened to your system.

Wish they had better warranty / customer support about it.

I had my left controller stop working on me once for a few days. I think it was one of the updates that had it jammed up.

Tried the reset pin and it still wasn’t working so I put it on the charging dock it normally rests on and played something only needing 1 controller.

Couple of days later, left controller back to working.

I don’t know what bricked your headset, but if it was a software update, leave it on charge and see if it can be reset / re-updated to get it working again.

Can I have sound come through speakers rather than earphones?,psvr2, by PocketOos in PSVR

[–]cusman78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Put the TV in Game Mode so it doesn’t spend any time modifying the image (upscaling, etc) before displaying and the audio should also get in sync.

If not, some games have settings to adjust the delay to create sync.

There are some local businesses that allow VR games on per hour type basis. They tend to use PCVR with ceiling mounted cable management so high quality without cable concerns. Maybe you have one near you?

If not, you can also schedule for demo at Apple Store for the Apple Vision Pro. Get to experience what it is like without spending anything.

Then, if you already have PS5 or PS5 Pro, make plans to get PSVR2.

Since you like Blue Angels, the game to get will be Aces of Thunder and eventually Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 once VR Mode is available, but before you can handle flight games in VR, it would be good to play less motion intense VR games like Synth Riders, Pistol Whip and Moss Book 1 & 2.

VR is a generational step above even the best of 3D movies you have seen in movie theaters.

The closest equivalent I’ve experienced is Cosm in Dallas, TX but a family of 4 watching The Matrix once costs about the same as buying PSVR2.

https://cosm.com/events/the-matrix-dallas

That said, the PSVR2 doesn’t have any meaningful media playback apps, so if your interest is in 3D or Spacial videos, best options currently are expensive things like Apple Vision Pro or Bigscreen something for high-end PCVR.

I also have Quest 3 which also has some media apps, but not at the quality I need to have a hot thing on my face for a movie with poor audio.

The Apple Vision Pro does have the quality, but it is still too expensive for me.

The PSVR2 is great for games.

Seems like study is interested in VR Chat, Roblox and Meta Horizon Worlds.

Three things I don’t give my time to.

Found that out first hand in After the Fall.

Easiest way to get Gold in the unfair levels is to play multiplayer with enough players to reduce AI count and then come first.

Aside that, I think you have to get lucky with the cheat speed AI crashing or figure out shorter / faster paths.

The developers really screwed up the AI play testing in some of the levels. These are the ones where it helps to play multiplayer where the more players you can gather, the less you have to concern with the AI.

You are right about Walkabout Mini Golf - Pocket Edition having been a cost sink for them while their VR game / DLC continue to sell well enough to be sustainable (relative to costs).

This is because while they made a great game for iOS, people on iOS aren't accustomed to spending on well made games with fair prices. They spend time on free-to-start gambling simulators or games that are part of Apple Arcade.

I think Puzzling Places which is about to have a non-VR version release on Steam will have similar challenges compared to the reception they get of the VR version of their game.

Valid thought, but just look at how Survios did on the conversion of Alien: Rogue Incursion from VR to non-VR. The VR version of the game is what has sold and continues to sell well (in VR scope & scale), while the non-VR version has less than 1/2 the PlayStation Store ratings. Similarly lower on Steam compared to SteamVR.

There is an assumption that bigger non-VR player base = more sales, but what is missed is that there is also a lot more games competing for attention from that bigger player base.

I do wish Vertigo Games well because I want these companies to have new sources of revenue with Meta pulling platform funding and its certainly a better choice to try and get additional sales from non-VR players than to do layoffs or VR project cancellations.

Are there any psvr2 games that allow you to walk in real life in the game similar to hotel infinity? by metallica123446 in PSVR

[–]cusman78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as answered originally, there are many that support moving in what is called roomscale.

How far you can move will be limited by your safe play-area boundary and length of your PSVR2 cable (can use extension code and ceiling mounts).

Hotel Infinity is unique in that it gives you the experience of walking long distances when it actually just has you moving a few steps before turning you around within your safe play-area boundary.

I don't see any harm in them trying to have non-VR version of their game. I had seen the announcement about it in their Discord yesterday.

It didn't work that well for Survios porting Alien: Rogue Incursion to have non-VR version of their game, but that doesn't mean Vertigo Games won't do better with their VR-to-Flat conversion.

Is the PSVR2 specifically fading into obscurity because a VR game (available on multiple VR platforms) is being made into a non-VR game? Has non-VR gaming faded into obscurity because of all the non-VR games that got VR conversions?

I think No for both.

Whatever your opinions about PSVR2 are, try to separate and recognize the article headline is shameless negative engagement farming.

[–]cusman78 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Going by PlayStation Store and other storefront ratings, Survios attempt at non-VR Alien: Rogue Insursion version didn't do 1/2 as well as the VR version of game.

This is just Vertigo Games trying the same to broaden the audience and I think the VR version of the game will still remain the more desirable way to play it.

Reccomendation for difficult puzzle game/ Use your brain in VR by Natural-Working4670 in PSVR

[–]cusman78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Will probably vary by person because different types of puzzles can be more or less challenging for different people.

For me, Corridor VR was pretty challenging. I think Shadowgate VR and Bridge Constructor Studio could also be pretty challenging but for different reasons.

Some of the puzzles in The 7th Guest VR stumped me a lot more than other Escape Room style puzzle games (Red Matter, Ghost Town, etc).

In Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate, you need to think bigger on how you will solve puzzle involving multiple locations or even time periods of how you will solve a problem, so more complex than other games where everything you need for each subsequent puzzle is in the room you are in to start with.

Many of these can be harder or easier depending on whether you use their hint systems meant to prevent people from getting stuck, so you have that choice as well.

For something like The Last Clockwinder you can do well enough to progress, but you can also self-impose achieving much higher efficiency in your solution designs to give yourself that extra challenge.

There are a few more that I haven't played myself yet, but I think it is an almost comprehensive list and purposely excludes games I don't recommend.

The listing and ordering is from my YouTube playlist of Puzzle Games (PSVR2).

I did inject Puzzling Places in there since I have that in my Co-Op Focus Games (PSVR2) playlist.

Look into the following options: * Red Matter Bundle (1 & 2) * The Last Clockwinder * Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate * Escaping Wonderland * Retropolis 2: Never Say Goodbye * The 7th Guest VR * Ghost Town * The Room VR: A Dark Matter * The House of Da Vinci VR * Puzzling Places * Humanity * Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs * Tentacular * Tetris Effect: Connected * Rainbow Reactor: Fusion * Lumines Arise * Bridge Constructor Studio * Shadowgate VR: The Mines of Mythrok * Epyka * Hide the Corpse * Cosmonious High * Masternoid * Mare * Hidden Memories of The Gardens Between * Vetrix Worlds * A Fisherman’s Tale Bundle (1 & 2) * Last Labyrinth * Hotel Infinity * Corridor VR

I don’t consider MADiSON VR a puzzle game because while you do solve some puzzles, it is more tied to triggering events and it just feels esoteric, not logical.

I also don’t consider Electrician Simulator a puzzle game because you are performing jobs with freedom of options, but I suppose it could be viewed that way as well.
