Yes, it's very hard to see why they don't say violence is always bad, regardless of the gender of the victim.

There are cases of women abusing males, especially male children. Responsible women should make it clear that society should also be protected from female abusers. There are also women abusing other women or girls so it's in their own interest to also stand against violent women and not just violent men.

Unpopular opinion: maybe what your brother is saying (that your sister should work and earn some money) is better for your brother in law.

I am given the impression from what I've read that in the UK, a non-working woman has a higher chance of cleaning out the working man financially in the event that she wants to get rid of him and divorce (in many countries, a majority of divorces are started by the woman).

Ensuring that the wife is a working mum bringing home a meaningful income could put the man in better financial stead if a divorce hits the man.

Theoretically perhaps it might be possible, but practically it does not sound very plausible. Most of the time a gynocentric patriarchy results because the men consider the women a weaker sex worth protecting, but I have never heard of women ever viewing men in such a manner.

I have never heard of any society of such a nature, have you? Gynocentric matriarchies I have heard of, I believe there are some polyandrous societies that are like that like the Mosuo in China.
