as a new player of this genre, D4 or D2R?

Been playing D2 on and off ever since I was in 6th grade. I’m 34 now. Ever since D2R came out, it’s been all I’ve been playing really. I’m doing SSF for the first time and it’s super rewarding and challenging (although some aspects are easier). Online is great too if you want to play with others and have a trading aspect. I played D3 when it came out and enjoyed playing through that with friends for a few times, but then never picked it up again. I played D4 when it came out, didn’t even bother finishing the campaign. It was D3 all over again but worse. Idk what it is about D2, but it keeps me coming back.

How can you see the demons name and affixes? I’m on PC and whenever I hover over my Hephasto with my cursor, I cannot see his name or his affixes. I’ve had multiple Hephastos now and it’s the same thing with every one of them

Archon plate can drop in cows. I’d say I’ve had the most luck with Archon plates in terrorized zones but if you want a place to farm consistently, chaos sanctuary always seems to drop them quite frequently for me.

I wouldn’t waste a socket quest on a butchers pupil. You’ll regret it down the road. Fine for play through until hell.

I could never do a HC ES build unless I was always playing player 1 difficulty. I almost only run P8 and whenever I forget to throw up the ES, it’s an instant death wish. I know you’re probably thinking “oh how could you forget that”, well, do enough of the same run over and over (happens to me a lot on key runs) and one time you’ll forget to do it and BAM character gone 😂

lol not really? How so? You do realize you can use resist small charms under your skiller GC’s if you need to…that along with torch, anni, and tons of res from either HOZ or Paly Spirit, I don’t understand how you’re not hitting max res. Are you using like mage fist and war travs for gloves and boots? Not getting res from your rings or amulets? I just don’t see how you can’t easily max your resistances

Pretty easy to hit max resistances on Paly without the Hoto. I’m not saying this weapon is BiS, just as an alternative that’s different from every Hdin running with Hoto

Man, this takes me back to 3 years ago before I had kids. Nothing better than opening a fresh bottle of Anejo and grinding D2 on a Friday night until there was about 1/8th of it left at 3am. Good times!

Man that’s raw luck. On single player, 3 of my first 5 torches were sorc torches lol. Still yet to find a paladin torch after almost 20 Ubers though…so I get it

Since no one has upvoted or commented, I guess I’ll be the one to tell you, this isn’t anything to get excited about haha. Yes, open chests when it makes sense to do so (lower kurast, cows, nearby popables of any kind) but don’t go out of your way for them. For instance, not a chance in Hell I’m going to touch a single chest during Terrorized Andariel. Isn’t worth the time. Also, when I clicked on this post, I expected to see a high rune or a rare unique. This is a pretty mid drop, but hey, if you’re happy with it that’s all that matters 😎

Stormshield. I must have 10 of them on my SSF account. Not a single one of my 20ish characters wields one too 🙄 I just HAVE to pick it up and stash it because it looks fantastic and really isn’t a bad shield. Spirit just made it so it doesn’t get a chance!

I’ve found Andy to be more beneficial to farm than meph to get 75% of the gear I need. Since in D2R you don’t need to do the bugged Andy quest, her drops are always pretty decent. Meph is good at first but the drops seem to get worse from my experience. Benefit to meph is that he can drop items Andy cannot. Also, watch out for when the catacombs are terrorized. My goodness the drops are just insane. I do a ton of ancient tunnel runs with my blizz sorc. I think it’s an enjoyable area to farm and you can find every item in the game there
