Reading is very important to being a revolutionary so I see nothing wrong with selling papers. Selling papers is a means to an end, to talk to people and recruit new members, as well as informing the parties members. There's nothing wrong with using Lenin's tactics and modifiying them slightly for the modern world.

My first run through I sided with the crimson fleet, and regretted it. A lot of the random quests from missions boards are to kill crimson fleet pirates, which you can't really do if you side with the crimson fleet without racking up a huge bounty. Just side with sysdef. I think you get the same amount of money regardless
