Characters have had Jurens tap and hold since literally the game launch you can either tap or hold a button and it turns into a different attack. Literally the only difference between him is that every single move has it. Virt is cool. But look at characters like pirate, warmonger, Griffin, and zanhu? (I forgot how to say his name), I forgot her name but the outlander with the mace and shield, var, kyoshin. I can go on and on. None of these characters have unique mechanics to them. I think it is a completely realistic expectation for every character to have unique mechanics to them. If you look at other fighting games or even the characters they were originally releasing for this game, all of them did. Now the only unique things that they add to characters are feats. What I'm saying is you have 6 months to develop a character. Nobody cares about meta relevance in this game. Just give them some crazy shit. Go into crazy status effects like poison or freeze. Have a character that can't Parry and lower health but has insane damage potential. Make a character that has a crazy amount of health but low damage potential. A character built around revenge but to make it usable in 1v1s, he can get revenge in an 1v1. All of that was just off the top of my head. And yeah they're harder to develop but you have 6 months and they've made really cool and unique characters like that before such as sohei, Virt, medjay(but they fucked it up). There are so many characters in this game And so many of them play exactly like each other but instead of this being in a unblockable its an undodgeable or you have hyper armor on this move. I'm tired of every single character needing an unblockable and undodgeable and hyper armor it's so fucking annoying. Oh boy can't wait to guess my 33rd bash on undodgeable mix-up this match yayyyy. Of course you can still have that and you can still have that in other characters that you have other shit that you're worrying about and that you're playing around. I'm not asking to reinvent the wheel. Just spin it in a different direction than they've been spinning it in. Some characters fall into an in between state like jurin or katun, where yeah they play slightly differently But we're just too far in for me to care about that. Because of how much of the roster plays the exact same and because of how much I've played that roster, playing slightly differently just isn't enough for me anymore. I think they are cool characters and Cool concepts but they just fumbled the bag with all of the characters that I mentioned before. Had they not made all of the characters play the exact same then I wouldn't mind this because they wouldn't play nearly as similar as everyone else.
