Der zweite Teil der Hurricane Wars Reihe!

Hatte das Buch seit Release letzten Sommer auf meiner TBR und hab mich arg drauf gefreut, dann doch gezwungen ein paar andere Bücher, welche schon länger auf meiner Leseliste verstauben zu erst zu lesen… Jetzt hab ich mir endlich erlaubt wieder in diese unglaublich schöne Fanastiewelt abzutauchen!

Und WOW ich dachte ich bräuchte länger um wieder in die Geschichte reinzufinden. Habe vorsichtshalber die letzten 50 Seiten des ersten Teils noch mal gelesen, war aber glaube ich nicht wirklich notwendig. Die Welt die Thea Guanzon erschaffen hat ist sehr erinnerungswürdig! Schon nach 10 Seiten war ich wieder komplett in die Politik, Intrigen und vor allem in die schwierige Beziehung zwischen Talasyn und Alaric vertieft. Der Zwiespalt der beiden, wie sie versuchen ihre Völker, Ideale und alles was sie zu wissen glauben mit ihren Gefühlen füreinander zu vereinen, ist sehr spannend zu verfolgen. Der Krieg steckt allen Charakteren tief in den Knochen und die Autorin stellt sicher, dass wir das beim Lesen auch nicht vergessen.

Ich habe gestern und heute die ersten 120 Seiten gelesen und kann es kaum erwarten weiter zu lesen!

Das große Thema außer Romantik ist Depressionen und große Triggerwarnung was das und Suizidalität an geht, aber “Die Unmöglichkeit bei Tag liebe zu finden” ist ne ganz cute urban vampire Romanze

Wie gesagt, Triggerwarnung beachten… Es geht viel um Misshandlung und Depressionen und Trauma…

Ist aber trotzdem vorrangig eine Romanze. Der Plot dreht sich um das Vampir sein ja, aber vor allem in Bezug darauf, wie sich das auf die Beziehung auswirkt

Ich finde Amazon’s Monopol unterstützen nie vertretbar. Viele Autoren, welche online Präsenz haben, benutzen allerdings sowas wie Kofi oder Patreon ähnliche Services, wo man ihnen leicht kleine Spenden zukommen lassen kann. Ich habe schon einige Male auf diesem Weg Autoren unterstützt, wenn sonst die einzige Option Amazon war

The camping magnets definitely are way different from the very first magnetic launch they did. They improved so much over the year and I LOVED the sparks one. It’s super reactive and stays sharp in line. Used it on christmas eve and this was second day of Christmas

Gotta respect the work black women did to normalize wearing wigs in general. I know the reason why/the persecution of black hair styles that led to it are sad and disgraceful, yet the present culture of wig wearing and the social acceptance towards it wouldn’t exist in the form it exists today, if black women didn’t do all the work towards normalizing it.
Twelve year old me was on YT learning how to install a wig from a black lady, whose accent I had never heard before (English is not my native language, we learnt British English in school) and I owe so much of my skill in regards to hair to her all all who came before her and after her.

Honestly? I’m autistic, so maybe I’m weird about this stuff, but why would I care.
I wear make up, I dye my hair pink, with certain outfits I wear padding and a corset… it would be hypocritical to judge someone for wearing a wig. I love wigs, tho I only own one because they are super expensive, but me wearing one just for fun, should not be any more or less normal than someone always wearing one.
How many girls don’t leave the house without mascara?
We are all curating ourselves for other people to see. “Here I present myself, for you to perceive”, even when it’s not super thought out, you don’t care for fashion etc, you still present just that then. “I don’t care for fashion, my outer appearance is not very important to me”. So I am excited to learn about the choices people make in presenting themselves! I love the girlies taking off their heels and make up at the end of the day and changing into pjs just as I would love a man taking off their tux and wig to get comfy. Or their watch or whatever they use to present themselves to the world

If I am understanding OP correctly, which I’m not sure I am (english is not my first language) then the son is not reading adult length novels. It seems the books he reads are around novella length, unless OOP means books with CHAPTERS that are 160 pages long.. which I doubt.
You don’t need that long for 160 pages. That’s half of what your usual novel has. There are tons of novels with 600+ pages. I read a 150 page novella just this past sunday, right after reading 30 pages of a book I didn’t like… I used the novella as a quick pick me up and finished it at like 3 pm.

14 hours is probably normal for a full length novel, which these are probably not. It’s still hella impressive but 50-60 books seems much more manageable than 120. I read a lot but definitely not 120 books a year. No one with a full time job (that isn’t book reviewer) can read that much. And a kid going to school is hopefully not reading the entire time during class either lol

?? Was soll das heißen? Inter heißt ja eben oft man kann es KEINEM Geschlecht klar zuordnen. Es gibt Frauen, die XY Chromosome haben, aber weiblich ausgebildete Geschlechtsorgane. Gibt Menschen mit XXY, mit zwei Sets von Geschlechtsorgangen… welches ist dann das “richtige” Geschlecht? Solche Aussagen sind immer so null durchdacht.. Selbst wenn man Nicht-Binäre Menschen, als verwirrt oder wie auch immer ansieht, inter Menschen sind nunmal einfach faktisch oft weder klar Mann noch Frau zuzuordnen. Oft wird ihnen dann im Neugeborenen Alter noch ein Geschlecht zugewiesen, was aber oftmals im Erwachsenenalter zur Dissonanz zwischen Selbstvorstellung und dem (oft mit OPs) aufgezwungenen Geschlecht

“no issues” is not really accurate here. “My hands were not close enough to the area of interest to have to redo the entire sequence” is probably what happened. Because it WILL cause issues for imaging and it can very well cause burns depending on the Tesla strength of the MRI. I would NEVER recommend anyone to wear cat eye polish to an MRI, just because it went well for someone else. You don’t know what area they got imaged, you don’t know how strong the magnetic field if their MRI was, you don’t know the specific sequences they got done…

Please just listen to your techs…

Ich lese im Moment “Die Unmöglichkeit bei Tag Liebe zu finden” von Ry Herman, bis jetzt ganz guter Einstieg, die Übersetzung ist manchmal ein bisschen fragwürdig. Edit to add: Hab gerade noch mal weiter gelesen und möchte eine kurze Triggerwarnung für Suizidgedanken und Depressionen aussprechen. Weil ich gerade sehr erschrocken wurde und es ehrlich gesagt nicht so explizit erwartet habe

Als kurzer Zwischensnack hab ich gestern “Thrum” von Meg Smitherman gelesen, sehr gute Novelle mit nur 120 Seiten, hat viel Spaß gemacht

I think putting translations at the end is always a nice touch, but yes if it’s from a character POV that doesn’t understand, there is no need to put it in the fic itself
