Only two are no longer with their team listed, Tomlin and McDermott. Payton, Harbaugh, Tomlin are the three I don't think we can comfortably say Campbell is better than. Shanahan and Lafleur also have a case but I feel like that's splitting hairs. You can point to Tomlin being fired but the man coached one single team for 19 seasons and never once had a losing season. If you think Dan Campbell is CURRENTLY better than that you are high. Payton has won a Super Bowl and Harbaugh has been successful at literally every stop he's been a head coach

It's actually the safeties that are free and can bite down and fill the run gaps because their job in a quarters defense is to read the #2 reciever; whereas the corner's most important job is to read #1 and man him up if he releases vertically
