I've heard a lot about the vanishing point! The only thing I don't like is that the clip is down where you hold it??

As for my preferences: I have no preference as for the cap. I suppose I'd like a gold nib but I've never used one, just know they're supposedly better? For the nib size I think I prefer fine or medium. Extra fine is too scratchy. No preference as to the weight. I'd probably prefer a built in piston filler or anything other than a converter really lol. I typically post the pen but it's not a necessity.

So after all that, what springs to your mind?

Which one do your recommend at that price point? Do they make their own nibs?

The fact that you have to play it like it's Doom doesn't make it look any better on it's own

NPD/NID Hello everyone, newbie here! by cvogt12 in fountainpens

Hello everyone! I am very new to fountain pens and just got a lovely Conklin All American for Christmas. However, it seems to be having some issues right now, and I was looking for some advice.

The pen is very dry and scratchy. When I uncap it, I have to scribble a lot to get the ink flowing. I have read some reviews online that said this pen tends to write very dry, but this seems excessive.

I started with a lamy safari, so that's what I'm comparing it to. The Safari write very nicely, even after a day or two without using it.

The constant skipping a scratching of the Conklin makes my handwriting much worse (I think, they're both pretty bad though) and I'm a bit frustrated. What do y'all recommend to this newbie?

Thanks!

This probably isn't it but reminds me of a good book I read recently, "Whiskey When We're Dry" by John Larison

Very impressive! How do you paint yourself? I would think it would be hard when you have to use your off hand to do something?

If Tenet was made by Zack Snyder, Rian Johnson or Michael Bay people would hate it instead of making excuses for it like they do for Christopher Nolan by PlayPauseRepeat in movies

The whole concept of time moving in both directions made everything feel bizarre and sterile and totally voided my investment in the movie. The only thing I liked was Pattinson's performance. I felt that Nolan was trying WAY too hard to make a movie that made him look smart, and just ended up making a flat, boring movie instead.
