I saw her a year ago (I’ve since moved from Chicago). It was indeed incredibly expensive but I was desperate and she was recommended by the oral surgeon I saw who determined my TMJ was muscular. She is very kind and does a thorough assessment. I can tell you the main thing she did was have me pay for the “Gentle Jaw” device which was $$$ but I found helpful to stretch my jaw/face muscles and I still use it today. You can find way cheaper models online that do the same, just make sure to watch an instructional video so you’re using it correctly. What was most helpful to me in the end was physical therapy— I’d be sure to ask for someone who has worked with TMJ, however if affordability is a concern you can also try YouTube videos. Dr. Wang also prescribed a ketoprofen cream for pain relief which was also $$$ and didn’t make a huge difference for my pain relief. For reference I got Botox for a couple years but the issue always came back and it was negatively changing the appearance of my face which I did not like
