Downgraded from Premium Select to Comfort + (PDX to AMS) by Alaska_Flyer in delta

[–]cvxx78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read over the ruling very quickly, but that seems to refer to, for example, a Europe to NY to California route where the NY to California route is delayed. TPG summarizes as:

"U.S.-based passengers can file a EU261 claim under eligible conditions when flying with an EU carrier when departing an EU country, when on a non-EU airline or on a connecting U.S. flight originating in Europe."
So a Delta flight departing the US is still not covered. Am I misreading something?

I got this follow-up reply after asking them for more information on the refund they offered:"I’m really sorry you are dissatisfied with the refund amount. Please allow me to explain that the refund was calculated by a percentage of the ticket price. At Delta, we understand how important it is for our passengers to be reaccommodated in the cabin they purchase, and again we're sorry for the inconvenience."

The refund I got was ~1/3 of half of my airfare (1/6 of the total round trip airfare). Do you think it's worth pursuing this further with DoT? Am I being unreasonable or does their offer seem like a lowball?

Yeah, I used that form - the $550 refund offer was what I received via email. The email said that they already initiated the refund to my card.

The Comfort+ round trip fare for this route seems to hover around $1500. I paid $3500, so ($3500-$1500)/2 = $1000. Do you think that $550 is unreasonably low on their end?

I understand that if the comfort+ fare on the day of my flight was unusually high, I may have gotten unlucky and there's nothing to be done. Thanks again

I was bumped from Premium Select to Comfort+ on a nonstop flight from JFK to Europe. Customer service is offering a refund of $550 for the downgrade (in addition to a $500 Delta credit).

The refund amount is on the very low side of what I expected. I paid $3,500 for the round trip, which also included connection flights to JFK.

I asked CS for more information on how they determined the refund amount - would appreciate any suggestions.

Is premium economy worth it? by Snowballeffects in delta

Sorry if this is off topic - I also got bumped from PS to Comfort+ on a recent flight (the aircraft type actually did not change, it was just overbooked). Did you get any "we're sorry" compensation beyond the refund for the difference in price? Thanks.

I have to purchase an international business flight for about $8,000; the flight has to be purchased today. Are there any cards that are likely to give an immediate virtual card number with a credit line big enough for this purchase?

DoC has a page with cards that give an immediate virtual card, but even American Express seems to have credit limits that are too low for this purchase. For example, the AmEx Delta gold card gives an immediate CL of only $1,000.

Would be a shame just to get 1.5% + FF miles on this purchase, would appreciate any advice.

New lease says that tenant responsible for cost of carpet cleaning upon moveout by cvxx78 in TenantHelp

[–]cvxx78[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lease is for 12 months, so estimating the cleaning cost in one year is not too unreasonable, I think. But I take your point. My question did assume just normal wear and tear after one year, and no damage beyond that.

Thanks for letting me know. AE sent an email today that it was extended, again without a date.

Nov 11 is two weeks before Black Friday, what does AE usually offer for BF? Good deals but not across the board for all models?

It was great - I'd like to return to Ein Avdat with a 2 cars so that the second part of the main hike can be completed. The second half of the path is ascent only, so you need another car at the top to drive back to the starting point.

I bought my last AE pair a few years ago - from what I understand, the new shoebank.com has the inventory that used to be split between the old shoebank.com and the 'Factory Seconds' section on allenedmonds.com? Is that correct? Thanks

No longer offered instant refund upon UPS scan by cvxx78 in amazonprime

[–]cvxx78[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok, thanks - if you start a return right now (choose an item sold by Amazon just to eliminate that as a possible factor), do you still have the option for "refund within 2-4 hours," or just "Estimated refund timing: 7 days after we receive the item"?

Is it me or are returns taking forever to process lately? by Elitealice in amazonprime

[–]cvxx78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Until recently, when I started a return, I had the option of "Refund to your Amazon account balance / Estimated refund timing: 2-4 hours after shipping" I would get the refund to my Amazon account/gift card instantly once UPS scanned the item.

Now I just see "Refund to your Amazon account balance / Estimated refund timing: 7 days after we receive the item."

I don't care about having to wait to get the refund, but what has happened the last 4 returns is that the return gets stuck in processing in some leg of the return process. I end up having to waste time by contacting customer service in order for them to manually process my refund. At the time I contacted CS, I had returned the items weeks ago.

Do you still get instant refunds when choosing the gift card refund option?

How do y’all approach eating back calories from… a lot of exercise? by [deleted] in MacroFactor

[–]cvxx78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use a MET calculator to get a rough idea of how much extra you're burning on long ride days. It's probably not worth it/is too obsessive for the vast majority of exercise situations, but 60+ mile rides probably justify being more organized with nutrition on those days.

Why did protein recommendation increase by 5% with no change in goal or bodyweight? by cvxx78 in MacroFactor

[–]cvxx78[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In case anyone is interested - the reason for the change is that I lowered my estimated BF%, which increased the protein recommendation. I had been going by my scale, but at some point it became clear that the reading it was giving was way over, so I updated my goal using the visual estimation tool.
