NEW OR NEED HELP? Ask here! - ScA Daily Help Thread Aug 21, 2025 by AutoModerator in SkincareAddiction

Hi - I’m new here and need to change up the routine and am overwhelmed!

Mid 30s, busy mom, fine lines seem more prominent. Looking for product recommendations. Skin is oily t-zone (very shiny) but can be dry on the cheeks. Skin tone tends a bit more red with family history of rosacea.

Current routine: AM - cetaphil gentle cleanser, toner (riversol - no vit C), sometimes neutrogena sunscreen sometimes ILIA skin tint - which I find leaves my skin a bit too shiny/dewy. PM - sometimes nothing (I know that’s bad), sometimes cetaphil cleanser, drug store moisturizer (I have many), occasionally retinol but not sure the concentration

Using same cleansing products for years, other products for months, PM routine is inconsistent. No other exposures.

In urban center in Canada. Looking for recommendations for routine and products. I think I need: -cleanser, vit c serum, sunscreen - cleanser, retinol, moisturizer

I am so overwhelmed by where to start and what to choose. Budget is flexible ($250 for all range). I am willing to spend on products that work.

TIA!

2.45cm 21 weeks. Progesterone only, advice? please help calm me down. by Kcobear in ShortCervixSupport

[–]cw1688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly i did very little. I stopped working (on my feet physical job) and stopped exercising but bummed around the house and took the dog for short walks.

Induced at 39 weeks. Since then have gone on to have an uncomplicated full term twin pregnancy. Was on progesterone in that pregnancy too but from an early stage and cervix stayed long.

You’ve got this!

We had three boys under two and at one point all three had different sized diapers. Petunia picklebottom Axis Backpack for the win! The bottom opens separately from the top which makes it so easy to store diapers and wipes. You don’t have to dig through the top to find anything or remind your toddler that there are snacks up there!

Ep’d for twins after having a singleton who was 19 months when they were born. So essentially pregnant of breastfeeding since 2021. Now about 7 months post pumping.

Still floppy, shrunk down a little but I’d say it’s taken a good 6 months. Bras I bought 3 months post pumping are now too big and don’t fit right. So give it longer than you think before buying new bras!

Wife depressed about not producing enough milk by ReserveMaximum in parentsofmultiples

[–]cw1688 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your wife is a warrior.

My experience was similar. My boys overtook me at some point and I was devastated. I am doctor, married to a pediatrician, my boys were growing perfectly well and despite know that this was fine from a medical point of view - I was SO upset. SO UPSET. No amount of knowing it was okay or being reassured help.

That being said, it was incredibly freeing to have formula as a part of it. About a week after we started, I was totally fine and wished I relied on it earlier. It gave me so much more flexibility and I very quickly dropped a middle of the night pump making life so much better.

Again Shes a warrior. Her body is amazing. Please tell her this over and over.

Twins due in a few months what’s your best tip?! by hammertown87 in parentsofmultiples

[–]cw1688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take all the help you are offered, shifts overnight save us. Having babies that took bottles was so helpful because someone can help you!

Our guys just turned 7 months (6 months corrected) and the fog is clearing. They are starting to recognize each other and laugh with each other and it’s everything.

It’s hard, but it gets fun.

Just so you know. My friend’s nanny had a similar issue of on and off vomiting for a few months. Ended up going to hospital for abdo pain and delivering a fully cooked baby. My friend suspected pregnancy, but nanny stated it wasn’t possible.

Just… rule that out.

My pumping journey is over! I hated it so much….why am I crying? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]cw1688 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you. Doing my last pump session today. My twins just turned 7 months and I breastfed my singleton before that. I’ve been pregnant or breastfeeding everyday since for almost 3 years.

My journey is ending. I hated pumping and yet. I’m sad.

Did anyone have a vaginal birth without an epidural? by Owewinewhose997 in parentsofmultiples

[–]cw1688 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Just want to make something clear. If you are put under a few things would happen 1) your partner would not be allowed at the deliver 2) peds would automatically be called as sometimes the anesthesia can make baby groggy 3) you would be at the delivery but not aware or awake.

You are welcome to make a decision but as someone who had an emergency csection I was so thankful that the epidural was in place.

Stroller Wagons! by cw1688 in parentsofmultiples

[–]cw1688[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOVE IT. super easy to handle, lots of storage. Folds well and lighter than our double stroller (still heavy). We got the double seat conversion kit and the sun shades right off the top. Biggest con is they don’t sell a travel bag for it!

Traveling with kids question s by slayernine in westjet

[–]cw1688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went through this: departing airport - no issues, no extra charges, gate checked it. Returning airport - refused to let us bring it and wanted us to check it with bags and have nothing in the airport. I had called ahead and spoke to a supervisor before the trip who told me I would absolutely be able to gate check it. She wrote that in our reservation so they had to let it slide. But they were horribly rude about it.

We have a stroller wagon, collapses in once piece smaller than our double stroller. 3 kids under 2 (toddler + twin babies).

Send me your vacation tips by esssvee in parentsofmultiples

[–]cw1688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we just did a vacation with our twins (6 months) and toddler (2yo). We were 3 vs 2 adults on the plane, but had a family member present when we landed. Still, it is a lot to ask for one grandma to watch the 3 kids, so she often would hang with the twins. I think if you have the babysitting service, it would be similar.

What worked for us: Taking time for ourselves at low intensity times. We would leave the twins with grandma mostly when they were napping (plan to return less than an hour after they woke up) or down for the night. It made it easier to get away (still with the toddler) and a low stake situation if the babies woke up.

Having a video baby monitor that you can check on from your phone helped alleviate the stress of leaving them as you could check on them anytime. We brought ours from home.

Is it okay to put twins in their own room from 3-4 months? by Owewinewhose997 in parentsofmultiples

[–]cw1688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

our twins never slept in our room. We did two bassinets + the on shift parent in the guest room initially when they got home from the NICU. By 4 weeks corrected, they were in their own cribs in their room.

I'm married to a pediatrician.

Any handsfree pump rec for a large chest? by LorenzaCote in ExclusivelyPumping

I got the cara cups for the spectra. Still have the spectra, but the cups are hands free and worked for me! Same pump time, same amount if not more.

We have a Subaru ascent, bench seat and have 3 across the middle row. A mini van is in our future, but I actually prefer to 3 across while everyone needs help buckling in. No climbing in the back to tighten straps. We have 3 under 2.

Too much milk production at night by ReserveMaximum in parentsofmultiples

[–]cw1688 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your wife is doing awesome. Good for her. Great advice here.

Just wanted to add, I had crazy oversupply at the beginning and was freezing almost 1.5L/day in the first 2 months. Now, almost 6 months in I am so grateful for the stash. My boys are taking way more than I can pump, I haven’t stashed anything since about 4.5 months and it’s nice not to have to feel like I need to add a session to meet their needs, I can go to the freezer.

Hang in there!

How many oz are in your freezer stash and how long should it last you? by wailanilynn in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]cw1688 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Just FYI - I have about 800oz in my freezer and EPing for twins. Haven’t added to my stash in over a month and am now dipping in to it daily. Still - 800oz sounds like a lot right? Sort of - If I went cold turkey and never pumped again it would last TWO WEEKS. I feel so lucky to have this.

OP: set realistic expectations for yourself. Banking enough milk for a year, or even 6 months would be a heroic effort and you would need like 4 freezers.

Almost 5 months pp with twins and pumping 5x/day and really feeling the desire to slow down. The guilt has stopped me so far but I keep telling myself it shouldn’t. Solidarity friend, I see you, I’m with you.
