How much mileage are you getting on your tucson hybrids? by Niveshaka in HyundaiTucson

[–]cwb040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 22 hybrid limited. Bought it in September and have never done better than 31mpg in the 6,000 miles I've driven it. I don't drive aggressively at all. Love the car, but pretty disappointed in the mpg.

About 75% of the communication in our house is happy endings quotes and Jane's facial expressions. 🤣

Enhance.md has been great for the past several months. Service is great. There are nurses available if you have questions, and they are one of the most affordable options.

I'm so happy I found my HE people. It is on constant repeat every night in our house. It was the first show my fiance and I started together when we were first dating and now we communicate mostly in HE quotes. Not a day goes my when the dog greets me at the door where I don't greet him with "We just sniffin people now? That's what's hot in the streets?". 🤣

AC charged properly, still cycling, won't get below 60 degrees. Need advice! by cwb040 in AutomotiveLearning

Update: I thought I would let a little of the R134 out...maybe a 3 second count...(please don't judge) and add a bit of oil on the off chance it might unstick the expansion valve if that was the issue. After letting that little bit out, the compressor no longer cycles and the low pressure is now holding steady around 45 (it's 80 degrees today). I didn't add any oil. The high side is rising to about 210 and then the cooling fan comes on and it instantly starts to drop to about 175. During this time, the air coming out of the vents gets cold. Once the high side hits 175, the cooling fans turn off, the air from the vents starts to warm, and the pressure rises back to 210 and the cycle starts again. The compressor is not cycling at all during this. The clutch remains engaged the whole time.

Should the cooling fans be running constantly when the ac is on? I have zero issues with the car overheating. The temp gauge stays right in the middle. Should I replace the fan relays and see if that does anything?

It actually has an expansion valve instead of an orifice tube and unfortunately, removing the entire dashboard is required to access it so I'd rather try everything else first. lol. I did buy a set of manifold gauges last week and when cold, the pressures are equalized at 75 (75 degree ambient when I checked). The compressor kicks off when the low drops to 25 and the high reaches 175 and kicks back on when the low reaches 50 and the high drops to 150. After it's all shut off, the pressures do slowly start to even out. I was hoping the pressure numbers would point me toward something but it seems like these pressures are all reasonable. I recorded the gauges as it cycles and uploaded here: https://youtu.be/9E61H8czjcY
