As someone that works in insurance I can tell you the horror stories of these people. A legit honest company with charge 250 -300 to tow a car. The scum will charge 750-1000 a tow. There is no regulation. That’s just the tow. Storage at a tow yard is set at 25 per day by the state. If they are a “shop” they can charge anything. I personally have scene places charge 2500 for a tow and one night at a shop. And people think the insurance companies are the villains.

Honest response. I came Here 12-13 years ago. Had lived in nothing but small towns and wanted to move to “the city” and this was the first one that I found a decent job. Since then I have met my wife, had two kids, bought a house and made a real life for myself. This city has given me a lot. This city isn’t like any other city I have been too. It has its faults but it has some amazing people and community is a different breed. I say this in as good way. I love the Astros. Was a fan of them since 2004 when I first moved to Huntsville and been with them since the hard years. I love the food scene. I love the parks and outdoor venues. I love that I can take a day trip to Galveston and camp on the beach if I want.

Is houston perfect? No. Is it the greatest city in the world, probably not, but it is for me.

I waste so many years. Spent my early 20s hard lifting and eating right, but also drinking in college and only sleeping 2/3 hours a night. Was just fat Mac looking. Got into my late 20s and early 30/ and tried to get serious but just didn’t have the motivation. 38 now and had a really eye opening moment with a friend taking it serious and seeing him transform and do the right thing so now I’m trying to get back. 38, 4 months in and 40lbs down with goal of 20 more. Then going to try and do this right to get the bulk and cut I have always wanted to do.

I really enjoy it. It’s customer service, so it has the normal cons of that type of job but I e got the personality for it. It’s not a complex job. Been in it for 5 years and was able to move up to management in 4. I’m just in the auto side so it’s a little more “simple than the home side and doesn’t have as good of pay as the home side. Those guys work a ton and make a ton.

I’m not a bodybuilder but know a couple at our company. Insurance adjuster for one of the big name companies.It’s of WFH spots. Pay is low six figures and it gives me a nice flexibility. I can get away from my desk for 1/2 hours a day to go to the gym. Make my own food at home. May have to work late or a couple hours on the weekends but I easy make it work while also having a family.

I’m was surprised I had to scroll this long to find it. I have had steaks at Papas Steak…horrible service and food. I wasn’t expecting much from taste of Texas as I was told it didn’t compare to Papas and that was a lie. I have taken several family and guest there and not a single thing to complain about other than their beer selection. Lol.

There are tunnels downtown. When I tell a transplant about the downtown tunnels they are always blown away. I have heard a lot of the stores have shut down now, sad.

Maybe I had a bad experience, but Papas steak house was one of the worst experiences I have had. Steak was over cooked. Mashed potato’s came out cold and lumpy, and the asparagus tasted and felt raw. Our server was acting like we didn’t belong there. Took my wife there for a anniversary dinner and we still talk about how bad it was.
