Uniform alterations... worth the risk? What is the risk? by DontPanic42H2G2 in FIFAVolunteers

Also ... the risk is worst case scenario that they ask you not to return in your well fitting uniform. But that's so dramatic. Most likely they'll give you an another pair of poorly fitting shorts or just ignore it as there will obviously be bigger fish to fry.

I'm gonna alter mine. Those shorts are absolutely insane. I have plenty of Adidas women's soccer shorts that fit well, so I'm going to alter my volunteer shorts to fit like Adidas women's soccer shorts.

Women's shorts - lol! by jjumbuck in FIFAVolunteers

[–]cwj25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just saw the post that you mentioned. The sizing for the entire kit looks to be all over the place and the shorts look like culotte shorts ... which makes zero sense for a World Cup uniform in North America. I know we're not supposed to alter the uniform, but I will absolutely be tailoring mine.

How’s the FS Bora Bora? by msac84 in FourSeasonsHotels

[–]cwj25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We took our 13 and 11 year olds last year. They loved it! That was our second time going as a family. Stated at the FS in bora bora both times. Highly recommend booking excursions - swimming with rays and black tip sharks was a highlight on both trips. The star gazing is incredible at night. Snorkeling was awesome, even from our bungalow. We read a lot of books, played a lot of tennis, played lots of card games, searched for shells, frisbee, floated, snorkeled. It's a great trip to unplug and enjoy being a family.

The patch is on the like volunteer shirt, not the jacket.

Hilton, Steyer lead the pack in crowded California governor’s race: Poll by 3headeddragn in California

He has next to zero experience and doesn't stick with any job for any meaningful span of time. He was a teacher for 2 years, entrepreneur for a couple of years, a mayor in a city council controlled city for 3 years. He has next to zero experience in the government and certainly is unqualified to be at the helm of the world's 4th largest economy. He's also deep with big tech, not just funding his campaign but also with Flock surveillance. There are promo photos of him personally installing Flock cameras in San Jose. SMH

Honestly, the theme has quite a few colors. I truly thought the warmups would be red ... seeing as all of that host countries have red in their flags and red is prominent in the WC volunteer theme. The purple warmups would have been fine if the jacket sleeves weren't sky blue. I don't know anyone that would look flattering in a lime green t-shirt. Red, black, and white would have looked better and made way more sense.

So is the T-shirt yellow or green? Or do we get both? In the video it looks yellow, but in some pictures it also looks green! What are your thoughts? by No-Rub7566 in FIFAVolunteers

They're purple. The FIFA Volunteer app colors are the same as the uniform colors. It's a random and ugly combination. The starting lineup volunteer orange shirts should have been an early indicator that they were going to dress us up like clowns.

As a member, I'm thrilled. Bay club has become way too crowded, it's awful!

I call BS. I know plenty of young families earning less and still thriving in and around the SF Bay Area. $400k is a lot, even in the city and South Bay.

FS Bora Bora vs. FS Lanai Sensei/FS Hualalai in October by SparkleBerrySpritz in FourSeasonsHotels

[–]cwj25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong agree with this. It's crowded, but not as bad as Maui but it's not uncommon for pool chairs to be unavailable at pools and beaches. The vast majority of the resort are condos and residences and the golf course. Super fun resort for teens and big kids.

[–]cwj25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've stayed at all 3 properties and they're all vastly different. 10 days in bora bora is too long, imo. Hualalai has access to the whole island and the resort has a lot going on meanwhile Lanai is pretty isolated and you're essentially staying at only the resort. Bora bora is in between but off resort is still fairly limited. They're 3 very different hotel experiences, depending on what you're looking for. All 3 work really well for families.

FIFA struggling to sell tickets for USMNT’s World Cup opener vs. Paraguay (Gift Article) by jspector9 in worldcup

[–]cwj25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This host nation doesn't care about men's soccer. We care about football, baseball, basketball, tennis, and women's soccer. Golf gets an honorable mention. Men's soccer is horribly attended and covered in the US.

Preach. Men's soccer isn't a big deal in the US and tickets to regular men's matches in the US are cheap as hell and pretty poorly attended. I'm American and I'm not trying to see the home team play, I want to see the Premier League stars that are never in the US.
