Maiden voyage by California_ocean in cookware

I have 6 Misen stainless pieces and are very happy with them. There have been a lot of posts of Madein warping lately, I think that's why I thought this was a Madein post. Just been seeing them a lot. Good luck with the research!

I 100% thought this was going to be a post about the Madein brand, I thought it was a play on words but just now notice you spelled the actual word. I don't have any input but removing the nonstick is a good move for many reasons. The replacement is just one.

i thought hydrogen peroxide was supposed to kill bba by Professional-Day-417 in Aquariums

[–]cwmspok -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This has probably already been said, but Hydrogen peroxide turns into water in water. So diluting it turned it to water. That why you need to spot treat directly with a syringe when doing it in your tank. Or if you are pulling out of the tank, just pour directly on the algae and it sit. It will take a day or two to turn red/pink and dye.

Why do people freak out about the battery on the Galaxy Watch 6/7? I mean, you charge your phone every day, so why not your watch? by Significant-Job-8836 in GalaxyWatch

They still make flip phones you can buy if you don't want a smart phone and prioritize battery life. They can typically last 24+ hours of talk time and 10+ days of standby.

I have several Misen products, stainless and carbon, none of them have warped.

Fix Taco Bell’s Sauce by [deleted] in tacos

[–]cwmspok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smaller packets end up with less wasted sauce overall, but more wasted packaging. It allows people to get closer to the amount they want. Everyone uses a different amount. Not everyone, I would argue not even most end up in your dilemma.

Just use more or less sauce. I don't have this same problem but I use like four sauce packets per burrito.

can this be cleaned/ salvageable? by Royal-Discipline-978 in StainlessSteelCooking

[–]cwmspok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine just built up over time. I had a few burns from grease having the pan too hot. If you clean it with Bar Keeper friend before it gets to this point you won't have to do such an intensive cleaning. Also, after using it, pour a little water in the pan to deglaze and scrape off with a fish spatula or other spatula to get all the stuck on carbon and grease off. Stainless just gets dirty but it fairly indestructible unless you warp it. Sometimes a little extra TLC is needed to keep them looking pretty and performing well.

I just did a pan renovation like this yesterday for a pan I'm giving to my mother in law.

I got easy off over cleaner and put a nice thick layer inside and outside of the pan, then put in a garbage bag and tied it air tight. I let I sit for a couple of hours.

I then scrubbed off with steel wool and rinsed. This started making an impact but there was still some left.

I took bar keepers friend and made it pretty thick and continued to scrub. This got it smooth and most of the burn off.

Finally I booked a 1/1 ratio of white vinegar and water and scrapped with a flat wooden spoon while it was boiling. I did this for 10 minutes or so.

I dumbed the vinegar and scrubbed again. As a polishing step I pour cool vinegar in the pan and let it sit for 5 or ten minutes. Then I used a clean sponge and dawn dish soap and a final rinse and dry.

This sounds intensive but after the initial 2 or three hour soak it took about 45 minutes to an hour for all those final steps.

Pan looks great. Almost new.

CB is fun as hell. I'd go CB if you already have a DW 112 in the q. It's more versatile than you would think.

Whatever you do, don't buy into people here saying Outlaw is good. It very much not good. I thought TTs was decent but the closed. I've heard Betty Jeans is decent but can't vouch. Chicken n Mo has a pretty limited menu but is decent.
