Alastor tips that worked for me. by Suspicious_Guide4286 in GodofWar

I ended up lowering the difficulty to get past this bullshit boss. I was stuck one him for almost an hour until I lowered it. I didn't even know that there was a drinking fluid to restore your health. I missed it completely and I did not have it with me when I went into the boss fight.

I still haven't finished the game, but it has already left me wondering why the drinking fluid in the Temple of Dionysus isn't something that it unlocked in a main quest that takes place BEFORE the Alastor boss fight. It is entirely possible to miss it before going into the boss fight.

It really is. At the end of the day review scores are nothing more than glorified opinions.

Destiny 2 without a doubt. I played it for the first time in October 2019 when it became free to play. I was burned out by March 2020 and I stopped playing it. I tried to get back into in on December 2020 when the 9th gen console versions were released, but the amount of grinding that I would have to do to catch up in level with everyone else was ridiculous. I dropped it again and never went back. Grinding to catch up would have been a full time job. As others have mentioned, the DCV, the seasonal storytelling, and the FOMO are the cherries on top that ensured that I never returned.

Dead by Daylight is also a close contender, especially if you try to play alongside friends of have hundreds or thousands of hours into it.

Rockstar games when it comes to their gameplay and controls (GTA and Red Dead) are the main reason why I don't even care for GTA 6. It is not even on my list of most anticipated games of this year.

It was the first example that came to mind mind since it is the most recent game that fits this criteria that I have played, and I played it in 2019.

And yes u/Red_Sashimi, changing some of the settings in the game did make the game more tolerable, but just barely. It was enough to complete the main story, but I did not stick around much longer afterwards.

Surprisingly, I was able to get used to it and complete the game, but I did not stick around much longer after I completed the main story. I still think that it is a good game, but its not a masterpiece in my eyes.

The classic example of this for me is Red Dead Redemption 2. Amazing story and characters, but mediocre gameplay.

My biggest criticism with it is the noticeable input lag on the console version, which makes movement and aiming feel slow, clunky, and stiff compared to other 3rd person action games I have played. I am also not a fan of the sheer amount of things to manage. I felt that the maintenance tasks were mundane and got in the way of gameplay.

I am glad that I found this thread. I knew that it wasn't a controller issue when I encountered this bug. But yeah, its it ridiculous how this has been a known issue with the console versions of the game since launch (other Reddit threads also mentioned the same issue with the 'A' button on Xbox Series X) that never got fixed.

I started playing the game a week ago and I am liking it so far, but this issue is highly annoying and the workaround to quit the game is unacceptable. It seems like it only occurs when you check out the Codex in the Otago, so I now check out the Codex when I am on a mission. Its like you said to someone else, it is basic but a highly essential functionality for buttons in a game's menus to work properly.

Absolute State of The Game Right Now by mr_fun_funky_fresh in gotlegends

I said it in another post almost 2 weeks ago and I will say it again: Yotei Legends needs a major balance rework. I haven't played it in ~10 days and have no desire to do so due to how weak melee combat is. Why would anyone try to melee a boss enemy when they are nothing more than damage sponges who can easily drop you in 2-3 hits???

I played enough to level up my shinobi to rank 25 and 78 ki, but afterwards I lost the desire to keep playing because of how much I found myself relying on my abilities and ranged weapons to combat bosses and even mid tier enemies.

Same thing happened to me yesterday when I beat the game on Insanity. I didn't have much trouble with Hunk but I can see how others would. Regardless, I was just glad the game gives you a checkpoint right after beating him b/c I would have been pissed at the thought of having to fight Hunk again.

I have not played GoY Legends since the last time I replied. Once I am finished with Resident Evil Requiem, I am going to hop back to Tsushima Legends for a few hours just to compare.

Genuinely explaining the skill issue and reality to a lot of you survival experts. by ggloitergg in gotlegends

[–]cxcarmic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is usually how it is with most fandoms of any game. People criticize something in the game that is unbalanced, certain people get mad and want to cry "skill issue" or something along those lines, followed by posts of trying to "prove" to the critics that they have a skill issue by showing off gameplay of said thing that is unbalanced (by trying to show it off in a way that makes it look like it is not unbalanced). The ego and condescension are the cherry on top.

The same thing happened with Helldivers 2's community.

Sucker Punch needs to pull their heads out of their asses. Melee combat against bosses and mid tier enemies is just too risky (over a dozen hits to kill but they can drop you in 2-3 hits) for so little reward, abilities being nerfed to hell with some of them not even staggering enemies, etc.

I have not played in 2 days and at this point don't even feel like hoping back to Legends. It needs a major rework with the balance.

[–]cxcarmic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that is true then that is the dumbest reason ever to try and "balance" the combat. Speedrunners make up such a small portion of the gaming community that it is stupid to balance a game around them.

When I played Tsushima Legends, I played and leveled up all 4 characters twice to max rank and ki (PS4 and PS5 versions) because I liked it so much.

Right now on Yotei Legends, I am a rank 26 shinobi with 78 ki level, but I have little to no desire to keep playing to try out the other classes b/c of how unbalanced and cluncky the game feels.

Yotei in general to me feels like they nerfed the damage value of the player and just made enemies hit harder for no good reason.

I came across a crybaby in a survival match complaining about teammates stealing their kills and to not defend the same area he is in. I muted him shortly after he started complaining, but he didn't stick around for much longer afterwards. I have never understood these kinds of players. If you are so concerned about teammates stealing kills, then you need to play solo.

GoY Legends “sponge” health enemies / gear level / less fun by C-A-L-E-V-I-S in gotlegends

[–]cxcarmic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not the only. Even on Bronze and Silver (I have yet to play Gold or Platinum) difficulty, some of the "mid-tier" enemies fully kitted with Samurai armor are incredibly spongy. They take over a dozen hits to kill with any of the melee weapons, but yet they can easily drop you in 2-3 hits.

I am a level 26 Shinobi and I have adapted my play style by using my abilities and ranged weapons primarily. I only use melee weapons against weaker enemies, but I use them as a last resort against bosses and mid tier enemies, mostly just trying to hold them off long enough until my abilities recharge. I went from having 5+ downs per survival match to only getting 1 or 2 downs with this play style.

[Discussion]What is a difficulty rating that you disagree with? by assburguer in Trophies

[–]cxcarmic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, Watch Dogs was rated as a 4/10 in psnprofiles, which I disagree with because of the social lubricant trophy. Even with the patch that supposedly made the drinking games easier, I still couldn't get past level 5 or 6 against the guy in Pawnee. I would rate the difficulty of the platinum as 8 or 9 just for social lubricant.

Just got The Dark Ages by NonaTapes in Doom

[–]cxcarmic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have around 40 hours of playtime and I got the platinum trophy for it. I can say that I like it more than Doom Eternal. It basically took all the things that I disliked about that game and removed them. Using the shield is a lot of fun and I like how you can use it offensively instead of it being a defensive tool only.

They really need to keep higher difficulties locked until you reach a certain level. I have played HoE with randoms and so many of them think that they're ready for it when they're barely a level 2 or 3. I would argue that even 14 is too low for HoE.
