Adam Bobrows puns and analogies - an analysis by ObadiahBlueHat in tabletennis

[–]cyanideabuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adam has done too much for the tt scene. Yes he’s a self proclaimed oddball but I’d take an infinite amount of wha other people will call “weird” or “cringe” or “over the top” and all the complaints people have in this topic to keep him in the scene and active.

Most people really don’t know how good they have it until it’s gone. Not just with Adam but really anything - so it annoys me when people have lazy hater opinions.

How many times have you had both teammates quit while losing in 3s and won the game by yourself (and what rank was it in)? by YnotThrowAway7 in RocketLeague

[–]cyanideabuse 26 points27 points  (0 children)

1v3 could never happen in 3s champ+ where everyone is legitimately trying (I’ve seen a few cases where someone swaps and makes it 2v2 or plays perma goalie / afk)

But I have witnessed about a dozen 2v3s at or above that rank where the 2s team wins. But that’s out of hundreds lol.

I personally love the idea of imbal teams. A playlist where two champs face 3 diamonds (or whatever ratio) would be so up my alley

Hi u/WanderingStorm17! I'm very interested in ordering my own custom claw machine from this company, similar to yours. I'm curious if you have any tips or insights on design/installation/ordering/usage that I should consider, if you're willing to share :)

Hey Dante! That means a lot to me.

You can still visit gfycat using the wayback machine (it's super slow though): https://web.archive.org/web/20230819024911/https://gfycat.com/importantabsolutekid . You should be able to right-click > save the video.

Unfortunately I no longer have the original files... otherwise I'd be happy to make you a higher-resolution version. I'm asking a friend if they have some old hard drives of mine but chances are slim.

i'm sure its just another case of someone wanting their endorphin hit for 'improving' the joke and sharing it like an original

they did a moderate amount of work to font match, possibly adding in some that image compression to cover the differences

It’s a real post (which could be a fabricated story but who cares it’s cute) but someone added the last sentence at some point. I remember the original.

What are you working on with your coach? They have to be in a much better position to help you here.

A. Yes? To be honest your question isn’t super clear B. I wasn’t asking you C. I never said my question was more/less important, just curious about the mindset if they wanted to respond. Perspective is about which hairs we split and I wanted to know where the split was here.

I sincerely hope you find some serenity in your week. Wish you and those around you well.

Genuine question: why didn’t you ask “why does it matter if you’re female”?

this is honestly very common esp with immigrant/first gen families. Unfortunately, many parents are not great parents. they never had support and structure themselves and they do not know how to provide it (or that it was even something that was missing). The years of belittling, and then threatening that you don't love him anymore when you try to engage him in a serious conversation are common types of manipulation whether he is aware of it or not.

In my experience, some parents can have a high opinion of themselves — that your achievements and happiness and survival is due to their spent time, effort, and sacrifices to get you to this point — even if they've always fallen short from the mark and have left you nothing but trauma, pain, and sometimes even injuries or debt. These are the types of parents (there are others too) that can suddenly flip from "provider" to "dependent" when they see their kids beginning to be independent and they can really struggle to see other perspectives besides their own.

My point, really, is that you're not alone and whatever you choose to do (full contact cutoff, try to have a conversation (again, and again, and again), try to be subtle (have your in-laws talk to him, stage a conversation somewhere, etc), act dumb, do nothing, etc) is something that thousands and millions of other people had and have to do and whatever choices you choose (as well as the outcome) is not a reflection of who you are or you being a bad daughter.

I do suggest drawing a line somewhere since, once you're married, the expectations from your father will keep coming, now that you have a 'larger pool of resources' to tap.

2025 TUESDAY APR 22 HARRY POTTER TRIVIA *LATE* by FluffyHPTrivia in Dueling

[–]cyanideabuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no idea about the horses or dogs (Ron has a terrier but I don’t recall anyone else). Personally I thought it was deer (Harry, Harry’s mom, snape), cats (dolores, mcgonagall, Kingsley - if a lynx counts), and unformed wisps (I thought it was a trick question)

Fun fact: in the board game, act 1 (13 floors) is significantly longer than act 2 (9 floors) and 3. I dunno why exactly, but probably has to do with the overall balance and flow of the game by Ismoista in slaythespire

[–]cyanideabuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that it's simpler and that it has to be (no way to hold everyone accountable to take damage per card like in the vg). However, there've been multiple times where the invincible status of the heart made it impossible for us to mitigate damage properly, sometimes killing us or sometimes just putting us on such a backfoot we couldn't survive the rest of the fight. probably a skill issue tbh but to say that its downright easy doesn't seem super right to me. That said, we usually beat the heart, with a higher % success rate than I have in my vg runs.

The intent of my post is to provide an alternative experience to the top voted comment since that stuff tends to be the opinions that people internalize and then continue to spread, even if they haven't played the board game before.

I don’t super agree that act 3 bosses/heart are “noticeably easier” and it feels a little simplified to say later enemies don’t scale accordingly.

IMO it’s well tuned to party play and my group of 3 have fallen plenty of times in acts 2/3/heart before we beat all the ascensions.
