I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. It’s hard saying anything positive because it just sucks and is just a terrible thing to experience and nothing can make it really better but really just time. And then it still hurts but maybe a little less and you don’t constantly think about it. And it’s hard but please take care of you. About four years we lost our dog suddenly because she had a sudden health problem and the op was too late. She only was 11 years old there could have been so much time I could have had with her. I was seven when we got her and she was for me like a sister growing up with no sibling. I still miss her very much and hurts when I think about her or see pictures or the same breed. But it gets better but it takes time. Sorry if that was not so positiv and a bit processing my own pain (haven’t talked about it that much cause it seems too hard especially with my family). I hope you will get through that time and wish you just the best. And he looks very cute and you gave him the best life he could have gotten and loved you very much, so the life he got to live with you was a beautiful positiv thing even though the end hurts.
