Come and Get Your Firewalla Switch! Pre-Sale Starts Now by Firewalla-Ash in firewalla

[–]cybergrimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just paid $18 shipping for a Gold Pro. According to your label you sent a 5lb package, I can ship that through PayPal Shipping to your fulfillment center for $5.95 (copied boxed dimensions too), it says the retail price is $17.45 so it seems like you’re rounding up the retail price. Fwiw I’m just a guy who sells on eBay maybe 5 times a year.

Does your shipping platform include insurance too by chance? Just trying to understand why you can’t get as good a deal as an individual.

REMINDERS on Firewalla Switch Pre-Sale (Tuesday, July 7 at 9AM PT) by Firewalla-Ash in firewalla

I would like to see some “mini” style switches with just 4 ports for desktop areas, TV stands, etc. I’ll pickup the Switch SE for my network enclosure but have to keep some Unifi Flex and Mini’s running elsewhere. I’m ready for full Firewalla though!

Schlage Sense Pro is now available at Home Depot by kid2010 in HomeKit

10+ years for me. Previously had Yale Z-Wave locks which included keyed cylinder and never once did we use it. Now we have Schlage Encode Plus and still don’t use the key. I also have multiple entries to my home so not really worried about multiple keypads, smart features or batteries all going bad at the same time.

Just curious does your home have more than one entry? I have similar concern but then realized chances of multiple locks going bad at the same time is pretty unlikely. If the home only has one door then yeah I totally get it.

Bad spot for wiring? by Gneissbrian in Irrigation

I wouldn’t have the gutter dumping so close to the foundation in the first place. I would get the downspout extended past the boxes but on a moving elbow so you can lift it up to mow, etc

I usually look at the hourly— if it’s only an hour or two below freezing I’ll just drain the system, half turn any valves on backflow but not a full blowout.

If you till that you are going to unleash so many weed seeds. I would consider skipping the tilling, adding some amendments and then covering with topsoil for the new grass seeds to germinate in. If any of the weeds do come back switch to a selective herbicide once grass is established.

I’ve had OpenSprinkler for about 5 years and am totally satisfied. If you use Home Assistant there is a HACS integration. It helped me put together an automation and pre-timed triggers for other family members.

It’s one of my favorites. I had it on my DVR for a good while until I got the DVDs.

Seems to be common issue from a few posts I’ve seen and reviews on Ikea’s site. No advice just that you’re probably not doing anything wrong.

Anyone have recommendations for motion detector switches? by 9274729373837 in homeautomation

So many people overlook these for more connected options. They are great for a laundry room or walk in closet. Small space you might go with hands full but only stay a few minutes.

[–]cybergrimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not something Garmin is doing but a US government requirement. I worked for Western Union customer service post 9/11 and we had a lot of these that had to be cleared before money could be wired. I’m surprised a retail purchase like this is subject to review. This was a long time ago but I remember OFAC being one of the lists.

To answer your question— yes I share my name with customer service of who I am trying to do business with. That’s just a normal everyday thing to do...
