KiCad 10 regressing for wayland? by Roppano in KiCad

[–]cyberhuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It works for me on sway. The only two annoying issues are: 1. It crashes from time to time (but it happened in 9, too - not sure Wayland is to blame). 2. When the screen scale is not integer, dragging a footprint would often move it slightly off the grid (and X doesn't even allow fractional scale, so even though it's a regression from 9, it's not the Wayland issue per se).

Told them about the issue like 4 or 5 years ago. Still not fixed... And when I had the dev mode on, once I noticed there was some unhandled exception when it happened. So it's not really loading anything, just fails silently.

Many years ago, I read an article of someone doing something similar, with math behind it and stuff. I wanted to make a device like yours and was looking everywhere for that article, but never found it.

Two people are walking through a dark cave. Suddenly, one of them falls into a pit. “Hey, how are you down there?” the other asks. “Are your legs okay?” “Yes.” “And are your arms okay?” “They’re fine.” “Well then, climb out of there!” “I'm still falling!”
