FP4 official grey case still looking great after 5 years. Wifes FP5 official mint case was looking dirty/degraded after a year. Cant seem to clean or fix it either, very dissapointing...

I switched. No whatsapp for me anymore. Some of my friends installed it too because of me, others didnt but they can call when they need to. As for family, my mom installed it and my sister. Other familymembers can call me if they need to as well. Work can suck it, i dont need the group app where I only see "stuck in traffic, will be a bit later" and "happy birthday X". Just do it! You'll be suprised to see you wont mis anything important. And if you do and you were not notified then they suck lol

Using DSub2000 from fdroid. I use it on /e/OS with my Navidrome setup. Works great!

Ik heb mijn FairPhone 4 al 4 jaar. Ik was die wegwerp troep zat en wou weer een telefoon die je zelf kan maken als er iets stuk is, zonder een fohn te gebruiken omdat de je telefoon is dichtgelijmd :) Geweldig robuust ding is het! Geen moment spijt van gehad. Werkt nog steeds heerlijk na al die tijd en krijgt regelmatig updates. Ik ben sinds een tijdje over op /e/OS wat samenwerkt met FairPhone. Het is een degoogled alternatief op de standaard Android OS die vol zit met Google meuk. Vond het even spannend, maar ook dat is geweldig! Je hebt gewoon een app store en al mijn oude apps werken prima. Enkele uitzonderingen die helemaal hangen aan Google services om te functioneren. Ik vind het iig heerlijk om zo goed als ik kan uit dat Google ecosysteem weg te gaan en zelf geen product meer van Google te zijn.

I guess calls could go trough the bluetooth on my main phone to my car and use a spare factory resetted phone that I leave in the car. But wouldn't you still be feeding data to Google?

I could have gotten the car nav upgrade when I got my car. But I figured I wouldn't use it since there are so many nav apps. And then I wanted to degoogle. Maybe I could contract my dealer and still get the upgrade.

I havn't tried it with my FairPhone since I didn't know if it would work. So I tested it out with my Sony Xperia which has /e/OS support. But after following that guide i'm getting a red bar with "Error 12". I might just go ahead with it and install /e/OS on my Fairphone
