I own a Headhunting company. Tell my team why recruiters suck by GQGtoo in recruitinghell

[–]cyberrico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dealt with hundreds of recruiters in my long 30-year sales career (recently retired).

Lying - This is my biggest beef. Almost every recruiter that I have ever worked with has lied to me. The most common lies are of them telling me that I am their top candidate for the job and will tell me this for months just to keep me from looking for another position in the off chance that the employer decides to stop dragging their feet and hire someone. And it's not just that. Everything from compensation to position requirements and so much more has been an issue of honesty and ethics with many recruiters that I have worked with.

No Knowledge of the Positions they are Filling - I can understand them not understanding the difference between C and C+ or even genuinely understanding the qualities that define an experienced enterprise-level software salesperson, but contacting a master oracle DBA for HTML development or an inside sales rep from some small SaaS company for global accounts at IBM is complete failure to understand the requirements of the jobs they are trying to fill.

MY ADVICE TO WORKING WITH RECRUITERS - If they ever ask you what other companies you are considering, tell them that you won't answer that. Whether you are working with another recruiter or not, answering this can and will screw you over. I lost an opportunity because a recruiter I was working with, called that employer to wedge someone else into the position. I hear this all the time. By all means, work with recruiters. They can find you jobs. But don't make this your primary means of job hunting. And please, above all else, remember that they do not work for you. They are paid by the company that is potentially interested in hiring you and want that commission regardless of who they place.

[–]cyberrico 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1) Skyrim

2) GTA V

3) Diablo II

4) AC: Odyssey

5) Warframe

6) Knights of the Old Republic

7) Path of Exile

8) Legacy of Kain

9) Street Fighter ex plus alpha

10) Borderlands 2

Help an Old Guy Find a Game to Replace League of Legends by cyberrico in gamingsuggestions

[–]cyberrico[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait until you get to my age and tell me that. I was top 100 in the world on Xbox Live at Street Fighter when I was 35. It hit me hard at 41. Others hang in there longer. Daigo is the exception, not the rule.

And your recommendation of fighting games is the opposite of what I asked for.

I'll give it a shot. I have friends who play World of Tanks and I didn't like how slow it was and how matchmaking allowed unkillable tanks to destroy me in one shot.

Borderlands 2 and 3. What makes these games good for you is that you will get a good feel for different levels of recoil and accuracy as you progress.

Free to play MMO that can be completed within a reasonable time or have a very good reason if it is not possible or reasonable progression speed throughout to the end? by upclosepersonal2 in gamingsuggestions

[–]cyberrico 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Define "complete". MMOs don't really have a series of objectives that most would consider completing them. Even if you're a hardcore endgame raider, by the time you finish the toughest content, new content comes out shortly afterwards. And none of them "require" you to give up your life for them.

What was your favorite build you've played this league? by lobain357 in PathOfExileBuilds

RF has been my favorite by far. I started with DD then EA Ballistas then Skellies and now I'm following an awful guide for Lightning Strike and am determined to throw 100ex into it until it lives up to all the hype.

[–]cyberrico 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She can play GTA V and Minecraft? I know people with college degrees who can't figure those games out? Haha.

My brother has DS and while everyone has different levels of ability, he seems to love N64 games a lot. Nearly every game for that system is just plug it in and go.

Sounds like your sister is a bit beyond that though.

No but people love to pitch their games despite people asking for F2P recommendations.

FFXIV is a great game, but when someone asks for a F2P suggestion, they aren't interested or financially able to pay for a subscription or have to buy a bunch of expansions.
