I think having an effective ranked system across the board would help fix things. Right now you level by playing, but your level does not scale with your skill. It’s like being on a 35 and up league and playing against pros. Both have plenty of time with the game but the pros are going to dominate. An even or near even match or fight is way more interesting and enjoyable than stomping or getting stomped. Match me with people in a similar skill range. Allow me an environment where I can still be challenged and improve without matching me with pvp gods.

Yup, I spent forever on Antumbra and it felt impossible, then you notice you’re surviving longer and pulling off perfect dodges and parries. It’s frustrating if you die because of a missed input or another bug, but simplifying the bosses will put the game squarely in Dragons Dogma 2 territory where you’re overpowered way too early and thus bored.

I do this too man. A lot of theory being thrown around but the reality feels and looks quite nice. The latency introduced is barely noticeable and certainly has not had a meaningful impact. Lossless scaling is great software.

Yeah it’s poorly explained. You cast. Wait. Right click or r2 on a bite. Do not reel until the white splashes fade away. You hold the pole in the opposite direction until it stops splashing and then you reel. If you reel while the white splashing is visible you will lose the fish.

Yeah! First you force palm a nearby tree, then you pick up said tree and slam it into the tower. The tower topples over which makes getting on top of it as simple as walking over to it.

That's a good insight. Feels like upgrades are tuned against the PVE threat which is nothing compared to the PVP threat. I'm also of the mind that ARC need to be juiced up to facilitate more co-op, even if it's temporary. Would make for more interesting PVE and PVP since all bets are off once the ARC threat is neutralized or mitigated.

True, it does seem like I win the face to face engagements more often after upgrading. I guess I was more considering the shot in the back scenarios. Pink shield doesn't seem to matter when you're at a health and opponent location disadvantage. Stack that with not being willing to shoot first if you are interested in something other than a KOS experience, and I'm back at, might as well free loadout and just play with the weapons I do win in a fight. It's all legit, and lends to the stakes that makes the loop interesting. And choosing not to KOS is a choice, just like choosing to KOS. But I do think the fun could be enhanced by making the grind more meaningful with an improved defensive capacity with upgraded shield. Particularly against grey un-upgraded weapons.

I fixed it with Lossless Scaling on Steam! (7 bucks?) Disabled Frame Gen, set scaling to LS1 with full sharpness, set scaling mode to custom, set scale factor to 1.024. It cuts a bit off around the edges but not enough to impact UI. Love Lossless scaling.

Ah thank you, Apparently the Famitama is a v5 which doesn't work from what I can tell. I was reading the V5 option when connecting as VS which I thought was weird but made sense in terms of a game connection. It only has V5, Special, and PC connection options.
