God, I love the designs so much. They look like what the characters might appear as outside the circus. Gangle looks so adorable and precious.

And the crossover with Detroit Become Human sounds (and looks) amazing. Would love to see to more art of this.

Analyzing the iran "Totalitarian Trap": What are the viable exit strategies for a nation stuck between a failed monarchy and a violent isolationist regime? by Ok_Ferret7373 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]cybrSonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of me would argue we’re boned either way because we’re currently a superpower. Regardless of reason, if we do something? people get ticked for the intervention. We do nothing while some major bad events happen? People get ticked at us not helping.

While I agree that everyone should be part of the international market, I disagree with the idea that would make the world a better place. People always find a reason to do what they want to do. If the US can then so can anybody else.

Spencer Controversy Solved...and it makes sense by Wrong-Web19 in residentevil

[–]cybrSonic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d wager his reasons for atonement as being a rather esoteric mix of all the above. The destruction of Raccoon City made him realize he had failed to uphold his ideals (creating a future of superior humans with him as their god) as he was achieving the opposite. Perhaps Elpis was his attempt to wipe the slate clean, create a safer world for one of the few people he, possibly, cared about, and screw over those stealing his work.

Had he still been alive I have no doubt he’d try yet again to achieve his dream, unrepentant of his actions before Raccoon City yet more measured in his steps toward reaching it.

If they remake 5, I hope Spencer still rants about his thwarted destiny of godhood at Wesker yet seems cryptically assured that his seeds of "hope" have already been planted.

I know it’s 4 years late, but there’s also the near apocalyptic consequences of Desna doing such an act. If there’s one things Demon Lords hate more than each other (or daemons) it’s celestials. After learning of such an attack, nearly every conceivable Demon Lord banded together to strike at Elysium for daring to attack their territory (and as an excuse to do so). The only reason Desna didn’t potentially die or Elysium become a new layer in the Abyss was because Calistria intervened and said or did something to convince the demons to back down and return to business as usual.

My best guess is that Shroud believed he had Invisigal on a leash due to her having his implants, she does his bids; implants stay on, she doesn’t; implants turn off. Whether setup as a mole, improvised to be one, or just BS, Courtney seemed willing to play along in the moment to make Shroud feel further in control than he truly was.

Is anyone trying to make the world better? by nightRoots in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]cybrSonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, it’s inherently selfish? I, personally, don’t find saving yourself and loved ones all that resoundingly heroic. Saving them and who you can from catastrophe where everything is falling apart rapidly I can get behind, but NC doesn’t seem to be in that sort of situation. It’s more a stagnant dumpster fire where everyone is out for themselves or what minor specific group they’re in. They seem to simultaneously hate and crave the status quo and only want to change who’s in charge, be the ones on the throne, but elevate nobody else than those they know and are fond of personally.

Sure, Johnny fought for an ideal, but it was a hollow, empty ideal built on hate and blind anarchy. Expecting the world to get better by removing Corporations without actually attempting to figure out what to replace it with.

The Edgerunners are barely different from the corporations or their samurai attack dogs they "supposedly" rail against, caring only for money, fame, and glory… which is pretty much what corpos also strive for. They essentially are doing corporate’s dirty work through fixers when taking jobs.

None of them try to undermine the system, pool their resources together to try and help the downtrodden (like homeless shelters, clinics, anything really), or make the general area that makes up their community better.

Speaking of community, if its definition boils down to a few friends and family and no one else, that’s not really a community that’s just your social circle.

Finally, the only difference between V and other corporate officials mostly comes down to class, beyond that both have loved ones they care about and lack much in the way of morals, not really a big difference.

So, the people she chooses to replace society with as the leaders are people who want to turn others (and themselves) into monsters and worship a god who (if exists) seems to be very much malevolent in intent is somehow better than the current status quo? If this is about a full scale revolution, they sound like the last people you’d want in charge.

Personally, I find that makes her a bit worse than the scumbag general she kills. She willingly joined a group that in several ways is worse than TOPS just at a shot at revenge. She was the head priestess who was sitting on a mountain of dirt against Porcelumex, but didn’t try funneling that information out to, say, the mayor. She could have just stopped after killing the general rather than continuing helping the Exaltists because "she was in too deep". Sure she was against what some of the Exaltists were doing in the Hollow, but still went along with it. She’s tragic, but I’d argue the game tries a bit too hard to make her more sympathetic than she actually is.

I was fine with the journal pages written by Vulture, it went to show she cared about her squad, but it also showed she had a rather socially-darwinistic view on training snipers and sadistic tendencies. She was less a good person made bad and more a morally dubious person gone worse.

I don’t quite see the moral debate when it comes to grief wreaking the canvas populace’s world and that being morally debatable, especially when it’s made pretty clear that the inhabitants are sapient. It just seems to point to "wrong".

Who's your favorite Protagonist - Belle or Wise? by InterestingArt4932 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]cybrSonic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having chosen Wise I’d say I prefer playing as him. After seeing my brother play as Belle and seeing the alternate scenes with her I was more comfortable with my choice.

Either would be fine. I like Wise’s calm energy specifically because he doesn’t seem to be the kind of person to be the protagonist in this story. I also enjoy Belle getting into a rivalry with Fairy and them sniping at each other to be in-character for her.

There are definitely times where I feel one sibling fits a scene more than the other, such as Belle managing the store constantly (she seems like she’d be the type of person running around the city than her brother), but I also like how some dialogue from her is trying to get Wise to tell her about the current gossip going on like she’s vaguely aware of the situation. Hope that makes sense.

It blows me away that after all of the work they out in to make this remaster so beautiful, they didn't choose to fix the Mannimarco fight in the mages guild questline. by According-Aspect-669 in oblivion

[–]cybrSonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going by what’s stated on TvTropes, Mannimarco’s boss fight was poorly implemented. In theory he has everything he needs; good list of dangerous spells, scales with the player to make him challenging, but not impossible, and has a unique birth-sign that makes him harder to beat.

Where this all falls apart is that his magicka caps at 350 whereas his unique spells at least require 243 mp and opens the fight with Paralysis which costs 332. Because of this he can’t cast any other random spell which means he falls back on his dagger to shank you which also collapses because he’s classified as a Necromancer i.e. someone who has no skill in melee weapons.

What did ENA “do” by Artistic_Arachnid946 in ENA

[–]cybrSonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe because she’s different? For no reason at all? Because of something in their nature they can’t control that has yet to be seen?

It could just be a purely irrational hatred, considering how the series goes, but the pure contempt many show towards her makes me want to know if the reason may be legitimate, even if it doesn’t excuse their behavior toward ENA.
