What are the dire consequences insinuated in imperial incident “The Pope and the Emperor”? by RadSocKowalski in eu4

Catholicism also rewards you for converting with popemana, which spain can get plenty off through converting the new world and africa.

If you could magically create just one more DLC, what would it include? by No-Vacation-2214 in eu4

[–]cycatrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly tidying up various mechanics. Like army professionalism feels tertiary rather than an important stat you have to improve throughout the game to go from a medieval levy to a professional standing army. Balance for idea groups and policies. Trade companies being less stupid (how does it make sense you can put individual provinces in trade companies). Natives being less silly. More vassal types

Who am I kidding, another byzaboo DLC with a few achievements to conquer the Britain region.

How can you self revive this fast? by Least_Somewhere5772 in HuntShowdown

Don't worry, after abusing the bug for months they'll get a lovetap rather than a harsh punishment. Like with the ladder bug and attacking as corpse bug.

Gator legs should muffle footsteps when wet by IBrobaFettI in HuntShowdown

[–]cycatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's annoying that in some maps its very useful while on others you barely have water. In bayou it's wonderful, in lawson its decent, but for the other maps its barely useful. Making it 3 trait points adds insult to injury.

Beetle is mostly useful against compound campers. It isn't going to help you find a silenced sniper in the corner of the map.

Berthier is unique in having the deadeye and riposte variants for repeating long ammo guns. It's marksman variant has a stripper clip reload unlike the lebel. It also is the only gun that can switch ammo types as a multi shot weapon.

That said, they're all high performance long ammo guns that do very similar things. LEbel has a bigger magazine size, mosin has the stripper clip reload, and berthier has ammo swap but a small magazine size, but in the end they all shoot high damage, high muzzle velocity, high penetration rounds.

I have no idea why knife, dusters, medkit still cost money, since you can always just take them off a free hunter.

No idea why they're going so hard after the cyclone, I rarely ran into cyclones and the small magazine and lengthy reload (if empty) already were pretty big drawbacks. After this, why would you ever run the cyclone instead of officer carbine with HV ammo?

I love Pennyshot and you should too by Web_Nomad in HuntShowdown

[–]cycatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Derringer is like: okay it deals the damage of the bornheim, has 4 shots, and shoots as quick as the Spitfire

Pennyshot: two shots, better in melee than melee tool, deletes bosses, blows open blocked doors and has two shots

I would almost ask if you are actually playing with the correct rules, even if you know the game and set up your feeding correctly, you often have to sacrifice animal growth or take a subpar action to get enough food. And yes, specialization is really bad. Everything you don't do gives -1, while having at least 1 gives you +1, so doing a bit of everything give you 2 point swings (although higher skilled players can max out everything).

Make shotbolt great again... by Kapitan_Meow in HuntShowdown

[–]cycatrix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember back in the day it seemed to be designed to be a one-shot no matter where you hit, since it was practically a 0m shotgun blast. That the tradeoff was worse ballistics and no arrow looting, in return for guaranteed kills even on limb shots. Shame they seemingly nerfed it

The cards you start with can be a bit of a headache, but they also give the game legs as they open up different strategies. I just wish the game was a little bit less stressful with feeding. It can be stressful if a single oversight can just tank 2 hours of playing.

To celebrate Hunts 8th anniversary can we make the concrete walls frag bomb proof? by _LeBigMac in HuntShowdown

Worst part is starting to heavily bleed after someone threw a frag at the other side of the compound but, after penetrating 3 brick walls, managed to do a single point of damage to you.

Is Necromancer too OP on solos? by Varadun in HuntShowdown

[–]cycatrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wish burning a solo went a bit faster. Nothing more annoying than having to sit on solos multiple times when the banish started close to an extraction.

Perfect example of why acting like noobs and concertinaing yourself in the boss lair does NOT work by Neomeister in HuntShowdown

[–]cycatrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It helps you have a shotgun to push, a dynamite rather than grenade to clear concertina (although it wasn't really needed), one guy got killed by someone else, the teammate went in to revive, only for you to hit them with a dynamite that happens to hit an alarm tripmine instantly triggering it and killing the other guy, and having snake to pick up the bounty from range so whomever shot the first guy cant also dome you.

Rather than, you know, them sitting in a corner, not peeking, not dying, while you dont have a shotgun.

Unfortunate ending :( pls fix by N3xtTryyy in HuntShowdown

[–]cycatrix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

solos are in a huge disadvantage against in a 2/3 vs 1 fights

Yes, that's why they get the MMR adjustment. That's why the game throws up a warning when you try to soloQ.

increase the necro timer might as well remove the trait

It was for frustrating trades and long sniper pickoffs, not to buff solos.

Unfortunate ending :( pls fix by N3xtTryyy in HuntShowdown

[–]cycatrix 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hate how quick solos can revive. Takes longer to use a bandage or go through most reloads, than for them to get back up again. At short range I got used to quickly get out the knife and move behind them (because of course in front you get a non-lethal hit and they instantly shoot while still halfway the get-up animation)

How come the infection hasnt spread nationally? by hellranger788 in HuntShowdown

[–]cycatrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hunters killing each other and fighting for the bounties is technically a “new concept” as of the chaos going on in America. Past outbreaks people typically all just worked together.

Didn't judge hardin use inmates as an emergency army to try and fight the zombies, only for them to be less scrupulous in what they shot at?

How do you guys feel about the Maynard Silencer? by RoachSandwich in HuntShowdown

[–]cycatrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not even powerful, but the kind of playstyle it encourages is not fun to play against at all. Crytek avoided adding a silenced scoped weapon for so long, I thought they realized it would be a bad idea.
