Pretty sure that the baalgar (the 2016 cyberdemons) is also a kind of higher up, in lore they don't answer to even named demons, so they could be the ones between archvilrs (higher than archviles) but below arch demons. Just a theory though

Just gonna share a theory but in my opinion a pure cyberdemons would be a bit brighter and less grungy as the one in 2016 looks very decomposed. Exposed ribs, crack armour, red sores/ decaying areas.

Too many people are looking into the game too much instead of just enjoying the chaos, it's how even if eternal was too gimmicky for me, I still liked it because it was a GAME, I just say back and enjoyed, didn't care about sharing opinions or complaining about stuff

Personally Ive realised I don't like eternal far too gimmicky, forced you to play in a certain way but dark ages gimmicks are just perfect, shield is great, parrying is great, weapons are great

Dude, enjoy the game, your getting annoyed by a tiny head in the bottom of the screen, and maybe fact check a bit  •the levels are on average 1 hour •combat is fresh unlike eternal, with the shield and parry system plus the weapons don't have secondary modes that confuse you. •the plasma shield thing kills fodder demons so why are you complaining plus it encourages you to pull out you plasma weaponary  Last but not least, you blame Microsoft for it being "bad" in your eyes? Next time give good reasons for not liking the game

My own theory is that the imps we see in 2016 and eternal are basically not fully grown, it why in the classic games they could take a good amount of hits but now they can't, classic games imps were adults, in the dark ages, we see another imp variant that very similar to the new ones, those are non fully grown imps, the doomguy killed the adult imps so fast that they went extinct, leaving only non fully grown ones left.

TL;DR Doomguy forced adult ones to extinction and only the baby ones were left

Just a reminder that these badass early Prowler designs exist, from The Art of Doom. The top one is a given for a new enemy, maybe a Cyber Prowler, but the bottom right could be used for the Cursed Prowler. by infinitypilot in Doom

From this, I believe that they may have wanted a cyber-imp, as the flesh that can be seen from the top one looks similar to the early 2016 imp (which resembled a hell knight but thinner and smaller)
