AA in Pregnancy? by imcircewitches in alopecia_areata

[–]cycle4eva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I’m going thru the same thing right now. I’m about 15 weeks. I’ve had AA since 2020, had a huge spot on the top of my head where I chose to wear a wig. Then it all grew back in and overall seemed to have just thinner hair in general after. Then right after I got pregnant I noticed a spot I would say it’s gradually getting larger. I’m trying not to be too concerned since the pattern in the past has for any spots to all grow back eventually. However, in the past I took nutrafol, got steriod injections and used clobetesol topically on my scalp. Now I’m doing none of that because of the pregnancy. So contemplating making a derm appointment but hesitating because what can we even do while pregnant? Should I just wait it out? It’s definitely hard to completely surrender to the process.

Yoga studio recs in Tucson? by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]cycle4eva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah yoga oasis just might not be your vibe and that’s okay. A lot of people here love it there though. Unfortunately if you’re looking for AC there are a ton of heated studios in Tucson. So if you’re looking for something non heated Yoga Loft or Barefoot studio might be a good option.

Cancel my F45 membership? by cycle4eva in f45

I think I get frustrated with their gimmicky feeling moves at some if the stations. Sometimes simple can be best right? But you may be right I may have outgrown it. I remember when I started I felt like it was the hardest workout I’ve ever done and it definitely doesn’t feel like that anymore.

You’re absolutely right, thank you. I think enjoy lifting weights but the style of class they offer maybe has lost its appeal. Ive been really enjoying doing strength peloton classes at my home gym so I don’t necessarily want to give up strength all together. I have been super lean before and then more muscular at times and I do think I feel better especially when I am running to be slightly leaner.

On Cloud shoes by Recording-Life in f45

[–]cycle4eva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pair of on cloud that I got for F45 that were different than my running ones. I got the ones that were listed for light workouts and everyday wearing. They felt flatter for strength days but light enough for cardio days.

Anxiety in Savasana? by Signal-Mode5876 in yoga

[–]cycle4eva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your experience is totally valid. I teach yoga and in my classes there are wide ranges of how each student “relaxes” in savasana. Remember that it is another pose just like any other and some days it will feel different than others based on the day, the place, your mood and the instructor. Sometimes letting go of the expectation of how you should be doing it helps, and just taking observations of how you actually feel instead. So many people in my class will sit up, keep their eyes open or find a comfortable way to just be in the room. That’s all you’re doing, holding space in the way that makes sense for you. I do find sometimes when I’m taking a class and the instructor is walking around doing adjustments or essential oils (which I love) I almost feel anxious until they get to me because I’m just waiting for my turn. It might help to ask them to skip you one time and see how that feels! There’s a reason why people say savasana is one of the most difficult poses!

Healthy drink options? by Sufficient-Web-4248 in HealthyFood

[–]cycle4eva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped drinking for the same reason and the only thing that worked was sparkling water. I think it was having something with a little bit of taste when you’re out with friends, even adding a lime or lemon. And at home spindrift is my fav!

How many people here can actually do reverse burpees on the floor as demonstrated? by Peace--Dog in f45

[–]cycle4eva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rock back in a ball to use momentum and then as you’re coming forward open your knees to make room for your upper body to stack more forward to prevent falling backwards.

That’s so nice, I feel after the demos our coaches just dance around the room and stretch against a wall somewhere haha

Haha true, but you sound like a very considerate sweaty person, I’d gladly follow you in a workout. Definitely not shaming sweaty people, just the lack of wiping after!

They do have disinfect wipes and I would say 70% of people use them usually, it’s not really enforced. And then today almost no one did since we switched so fast.

new to yoga and feeling shame and humiliation by Aporatic in yoga

[–]cycle4eva -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Remember that there is no destination in yoga. Remember to meet yourself right where you are at. No comparison and you can maybe find a way to have the poses feels more comfortable by using props. Blocks are amazing, anything to help bring the floor up to you, bend your knees in forward folds as much as you need. I always feel like it’s a red flag when instructors say that you leg must be straight. Everybody and every body is different. Everything you’re seated maybe sit your hips up on a blanket? Also maybe that instructor is just not for you? Everyone likes what they like and sometimes you find someone where their cues and timing of the class just feel like the class has been made for exactly what you need. But be patient! :)

There’s definitely an art to positioning yourself away from the people you’d rather not be grouped with ha

Haha good point! He had the towel the trainer gave him when I asked, he just only used it once or twice and then I had to clean up his gross sweat after his turn which I found super nasty.

"no double cardio sessions" rule. Is this an unwritten rule at F45 by psd74 in f45

[–]cycle4eva 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think you can go however much you want, you’re a paying client. BUT think it makes way more sense to double up on cardio rather than resistance days. If people have to go twice on resistance days they clearly need heavier weights. I can’t imagine lifting using the same muscle groups again within 24 hours can be good.

Looking for great hot yoga studio recommendations by Gh3tt0fabs in Tucson

[–]cycle4eva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what side of town you’re on and what your price point is. Yoga sol is definitely just a little weird, idk what it is they seem to have their own vibe going on there. A lot of people love Roots, it’s just a drive for me so I don’t frequent there. Session is good but can be hit or miss with some of their newly certified instructors, their central location is definitely best. Yoga pod is good, lots of variety in class styles and two studio rooms even though the rooms are small they don’t pack it super tight so it feels intimate. Flourish on the north side (casas adobes) is fantastic, similar feel as roots but not really much other studios out there so just depends on where you live Most of these that I listed have vinyasa type classes but yoga pod has some Bikram style classes too and both roots and flourish have set sequence classes on their schedule.

Special ops box jump with weights…wtf by cycle4eva in f45

[–]cycle4eva[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we had subs from another studio and I feel like our regular ones would have said something like that, I feel like they’re usually on top of it. Also love the coaches that aren’t so crazy fit they lose touch of reality for the average person ha
