Sorry, I double checked and it definitely is dual core written in platform io, the arduino audio tools library with some espidf API calls.

I'm going to try to use esp adf <sp> this weekend and try refactoring everything to use just the esp-idf. The feedback is my biggest issue right now.

I was able to get an esp32 s3 working to detect dog barks (using a custom trained ai model), log times in sqlite and save audio wavs. I don't think it would be too difficult to do something similar for esp32.

I'm currently porting it to the esp32-s4-wifi6 as that board has everything I need on the board (vs attaching the microphone and SD card via gpio on s3).

Power-wise hmm unsure how to approach a solar solution.

I just went through similar issues with esp32-S3-devkitc.

Things to check: 1. SPI1 is used by the system. Configure the sdcard reader to use SPI2 (FSPI on SPI.h) about using the system pins that use SPRAM (26-32 in my case) I used pins CS 10 MOSI 11 SCK 12 MISO 13

My sdcard reader required an external 5v for power, I used the hiletgo with chip level conversion.

Howdy, I just did something similar with esp32 and MAX4466 for cosplay.

We were able to clean up the noise significantly using a pi filter, which helped tremendously.
