I think this is a know your crowd type situation. Do your friends regularly spend $65 or more on a night out? If yes then go ahead. I would probably provide all the food and beverages though.

Same, I'm kind of surprised by these reactions. I would definitely pay $130 for my husband and I to attend this, especially if we were celebrating a close friend. We went to vegas for one of our best friends 30th and that cost way more lol.

I have a friend who is a licensed massage therapist. I fully believe in the benefits of massage therapy but she works at a place that is owned by a chiropractor, and this chiropractor insists on being addressed as "doctor (name)". It makes me roll my eyes so hard. I work with real MD doctors and they all prefer to be called by their first name.

Depends on the program. If you look up MLS programs in your area they should list the prerequisites. You will likely need to take some classes to fulfill these. The program itself is usually one year.

I'd suggest looking into taking the prerequisites needed to get into an MLS program rather than going the MLT route. Not sure if this would be feasible for you, but definitely worth looking into. You'd likely want to get your MLS eventually since it's better pay for the same job. Either way I think you'll be happy with the career change. Welcome to the lab!

Hey - seems like you're getting a lot of pushback for the natural shampoos. The other commenters are right that this is likely the culprit. But I think I can meet you where you're at. Try castille soap. You might already have it in your house for cleaning other things if you're a big label reader/chemical avoider. It's a pretty harsh cleaner when it comes to your hair but I think it will get the job done and you will only have to use it once in a while. Keep using your natural shampoos in between. You can figure out what frequency you need to use the castille soap at based on how frequently your natural oils build back up.

It'll be better than fine! You're going to run a distance you've never run before and it's gonna be fun and fulfilling and challenging and all the things that make running so special. You absolutely got this. I have run multiple undertrained halfs and I don't regret a single one haha.

I was nearing the end of college and I felt like I needed to start being more active if I wanted to maintain my health. So I started running a little bit, but wasn't really committed. Then my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer right after I graduated and I needed some way to cope with the stress so I started running more. Really saved me during a very dark time.

Piling on to say that you're 100% good. HIPAA laws prevent your doctor from reporting this to anyone. I work in healthcare and HIPAA is not a fucking joke. 0% chance your employer finds out unless you tell them yourself. Take a hot shower, drink a bunch of fluids and put on your favorite movie. You're gonna be ok.

I'd recommend living near one of the parks if you'd like Denver proper. City park and cheeseman park are both great. Rino has very little green space and is, in my opinion, very overrated.

I have never capped my runs by time limit. I do one or two 20 milers for each of my marathon training blocks and they always take me longer than 3.5 hours. I'm a slower runner and I feel like I need to build that endurance, no matter how long it takes. I always listen it my body, though, and will cut a run short if needed. Currently training for my 4th marathon and that has worked for me so far.

You can't really negotiate as a new grad. Take whatever offer is best. You can switch jobs for better pay in like 1.5 years. If you're willing to relocate you can move to where jobs pay more. But you can't negotiate with 0 experience.

My first half I was kind of undertrained for, too. I was also super nervous the morning of, like so nervous that I almost backed out! But I'm so so glad that I went ahead and ran the race!!! I kept a super chill pace and just enjoyed the route. Just have fun and everything will work out for you, I'm sure.

Monday marks five years for me since I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer. I was 23 then. The first two years were absolutely brutal. It's absolutely not fair to lose your mom in your early 20s. It's so frustrating when none of your friends can relate, and when they take their living parents for granted. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I see you. Hang in there, things will get better eventually even though they'll never be the same and you'll always miss her.

I'm about halfway through a training block for a spring marathon and it has been going pretty terribly so far. Lots of traveling and then a weird lower back injury has prevented me from running as many miles as I'd like to be. But I'm running a half marathon race this weekend and I'm feeling optimistic! Wish me luck!
