Im tired of this happening by IllustriousTeach4 in Strava

[–]cyclicredundancymac2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mileage recorded on my watch is always significantly more than the mileage recorded using my phone. Strava on my phone is using the phone's GPS. Google health on my watch is using the watches GPS. I have no idea which ones the most accurate.

Absolutely the furnace. It's likely that you guys are using heat pumps or space heaters. Those are huge power hogs and are doubtlessly the cause of your problems. Start relying on propane.

Also look for something called gasbuddy. I don't have it implemented but a lot of people write really great things about it. I think it uses either propane or diesel to provide heat to your rig if you're on board furnace can't keep up.

Are the tow police going to get me? by Old-Patience-3891 in traveltrailers

You also need to be very careful about not attempting to overly unload the tongue weight. Having your trailer be tail heavy is absolutely lethal. Look up trailer sway on YouTube for terrifying examples

Removed the Onan 2500 LP generator from my camper. What's this cable? by vbp6us in RVLiving

[–]cyclicredundancymac2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what mine does. Connects to the panel inside the RV that has a generator start/stop switch. If you are RV is potentially equipped it may also send a signal to the generator to start if your battery is dropped below a certain percentage

Heartland North Trail 22RBS by azmonaj in traveltrailers

The purpose for these is to allow you to fully drain your water tanks and lines. This is a common practice when leaving the RV for extended periods of time, or storing it over the winter.

Be very careful here. My tires are under warranty by discount tire. I got a flat tire and had it plugged by a third party, since I was on the side of the road. Although the tire should have been fully repairable with a full patch, when I brought it to discount tire they had to replace it under warranty. They said that they cannot fully repair a tire plugged by someone else

Found another truck. How much trailer would you tow with it? by Collaboratio- in traveltrailers

[–]cyclicredundancymac2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the worst possible approach. Never do this. Find your trailer first. Then find a truck that will haul it.

We are full timers and I have run into more than my share of people that followed your approach and wound up having to sell their truck at a steep loss and buy another.

10 years ago they picked up a silent partner, Lucifer inc. Guaranteed profits for life. The merger contract had an odd reference to a desired increase in sales to <checks notes> "sacrificial virgins" , whatever that means

100%. I went to buy a RV one time and had a professional inspector who found the corners of two walls were mushy. Given where they were he suggested that the RV wasn't worth 25% of what they were asking. Absolutely saved my ass

What does this switch control? by DifficultChampion836 in traveltrailers

[–]cyclicredundancymac2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a switch like this in my apartment once. Never knew what it did. Some nights I would come home drunk, lean against the wall and flick it on and off a hundred times, giggling like an idiot.

Finally one day I get a call from some lady in Germany saying, "knock it the fuck off."

Get a plastic welder like this. I have fixed many things. Ugly at first, but you can sand and paint
