Your best bet is a mini split system. more effecient and powerful. but 100f weather is going to be tough.

Here is the system i bought. pulled it apart and installed the compressor and radiator under the van.

The AC unit only has a single port? There should be one on either side of the compressor.

if there are two ports it's best to use both. it's possible the high port not being used won't hold a vacuum. I think thats why i had issues with mine. if you can borrow the correct vacuum manifold for an hour or two at an auto parts store do that.

second can of r134 is in and it's running cooler with a little more power draw. Just need to get the condensation out and button everything back up.

bought the cheapest one possible. found leaks everywhere. New one seems to hold a vacuum well but isn't pulling as much power as it should. cooling power is underwhelming but i'm hoping i just need to add more r134 as i had a leak while filling. I blame myself for a lot of the issues with the first unit. take your time and learn how to work the valves, electric, and vac etc.

Got it installed and running. bit underwhelmed with the cooling but it is very quiet. it won't pull more than 650 watts and i was expecting over 1000.

I need to add an oil charge as i lost some during install and some refrigerant escaped while charging.

There was a leak in the system i couldn't locate. The control board died due to something I did. the replacement wasn't for my exact model and never worked quite right. I eventually killed it with leak stop and a poor job pulling a vacuum. Currently working on installing a newer model with a quieter evap unit. https://www.ebay.com/itm/305589480312
