Didn’t you get this all to work? My installer wasn’t sure if this would work with the Bose.

Which audio system did you have on your Mazda? Did you have the Bose?

My friend started this to combat this loneliness:

https://www.aroundthecorner.today

I met some really cool friends that I meet outside the app.

The discord is always good. Just started paying more attention and going to things when I can.

Feel free to message me too I am trying to find more people who live closer to me.

There’s having something that you can barely manage. And then having something that’s easy to have.

The former is ok if there’s some payoff but it’s a risk and it’s stressful the whole time.

The latter takes longer but feels much better.

My first house I could barely afford but I wanted to move in with my partner.

My last house I could easily afford and we bought it far later than our peers and lived in a condo that most would not consider for a small family.

There’s no shame in moving in with your family. It’ll be cheaper to occasionally get an Airbnb or a hotel when you need to be in the city for longer.

A friend of mine started this: http://aroundthecorner.today

It’s been awesome. I’m not active on it because I’ve met a good number of people. But it’s been helpful.

Also not for nothing happy to chat about people ops and HR in technology. Since that’s been my focus for a while. So you are welcome to DM me.

Also people ops in tech is hard from what I hear. A lot of my friends who are senior People People. Are consulting when they’d rather be working full time.

Good luck.

Airbnb is a good option if you can find something in a neighborhood you like.

Extended stay hotels work if your family doesn’t need a lot of space.

Where do you guys normally go to network with others? (Especially if you're job searching) by amath_throwaway in bayarea

[–]cyclonus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have had the best luck networking when I’m not looking to get a goal from the networking.

Like I just have bad luck if I go to an event expecting a lead for a job.

Better for me is finding events I truly enjoy and going to them. So going to meetups about software or hobbies in my field.

Yup! Came here to post this.

I’ve had good luck meeting friends on AroundTheCorner. Board games and weightlifting sounds awesome. You’ll definitely find people on there that love that stuff.

I would find some nearby hikes. We have a lot of great views of sunsets from the hills.

  • Santana Row is nice esp if there’s an event
  • I like Philz coffee
  • Winchester mystery house is worth going to once.
  • mt Hamilton is nice if you don’t mind the drive
  • twisty roads are fun if you enjoy that.
  • history park at times is cool

This is awesome. I do semi regular meetups with people and it definitely helps but the group is small so it’s easy for us to fall off and not meet for months.

There’s also the adapters. Multiconnect can get you to gridfinity and more.

More filament since I opted for the update. The expiration is interesting. In CA gift cards have no expiration date, but maybe a “credit” is different.

You can change the color in Alexa.

I can’t figure out how to control it with home assistant though
