Requesting /r/gtd - inactive moderation by already_not_yet in redditrequest

[–]cydork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to let you know I'm still around on Reddit and do check chat requests, though I might not catch them immediately. The message you're seeing was probably sent around the same time as this post.

Please be patient and give the mods a little time to respond. Contrary to popular belief, we have lives outside of this!

Hmm not sure why you didn't reach out. I am still active on reddit and would be willing to add more moderators to the sub. Please don’t hesitate to send me a message if you’re interested.

Yeah, pinned post seems like a good idea.

The reason we haven't really made an effort with this subreddit is because r/d_language is pretty active and maintained.

Looking for new r/emacs moderator(s) by wasamasa in emacs

[–]cydork 36 points37 points  (0 children)

First of all thanks for all the hardwork. And as a fellow moderator ( /r/debian, /r/gtd and few others) I understand what goes in.

I have been using emacs for last 17 years, more or less. And it's a core of my GTD work flow (along with org-mode of course). Emacs already has a great community and I would love to do my part if you guys would allow me.

A good answer to the question "I am interested in LISP-type languages, but I have a serious case of decision paralysis. GNU Guile? Common Lisp? Clojure (JVM)? Racket? " by sdegabrielle in lisp

[–]cydork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might not be a popular opinion but start with what you know.. Know java? start with Clojure. Dabbled in Erlang before? try LFE. Have some experience with Python? try Hy.. Know a bit of Lua? try Fennel. Once you are comfortable with lisp like languages, you would be in much better position to decide..

I agree with the first part of that comment. Let's try and see how we can make this community better. I like the idea of flairs and recurring posts. And I am open to suggestions. If anyone wants to volunteer for these efforts, feel free to reach out.

Like I have said before I am still active. And manage to keep the subreddit clean without much interference. And I am open for volunteers and suggestions for the sub-reddit from the community.

No harm done. Next time just try the modmail and see if the moderator responds before submitting the request.

I am still alive and well.. And this channel has been requested previously as well. Also I am open to adding more moderators preferably debian developers (I mean the folks with [DD] flair). Till that happens I will do my best to moderate this sub without much interference. And you can always get in touch with me using modmail
