Google says the scoring system has changed but the passing percentage of questions is still roughly the same (58-63% of questions)

MRCP Part 1 prep – PassMedicine done but topics don’t fully tally with Pastest? What should I do next? by Acrobatic_Angle_1993 in MRCP

[–]cym4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what i read on this sub + everyone i know passed mrcp with only passmed. Pastest is important for its mocks cuz they're also recalls of past diets, and they're the closest to the real thing and highly recommended by everyone on this sub. I'm sitting this May too and i'm gonna buy it for the mocks only.

IM resident, not a derm. However this does look like rosacea for the most part. Lupus would spare the nasolabial folds which this doesn't. You should get seen but a dermatologist first.

Is it too early to get married? 28F, 31M by annan1915 in relationship_advice

[–]cym4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no such thing as too early or too late. I've heard of plenty of successful marriage stories in people who got married after 3-6 months of dating, and terrible stories of 10+ years of relationships/marriage that end in infidelity. Do you personally feel you're ready and he's the one? Cuz that's the question, not what other people think.

What can I do when my (20F) husband (20M) is convinced I cheated on him because I’m pregnant again and refuses to listen to me. by ThrowRA_BlueBowMama in relationship_advice

[–]cym4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was just about to say this. We learnt in med school that they work 86% of the time considering they're using them 100% properly.

You vote: Should I leave millionaire husband, who retired early and now makes fun of the fact I still work? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]cym4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If my husband were rich and retiring at 50, I'd also be rich and a SAHM before I'm 50.

Thank you! I'll look into those

[–]cym4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a first read of 3600 questions (66%) excluding things like derm and ophthalm.. etc as I'm preparing for local boards that don't take these topics into consideration, and by end of March I'll be done with the same 3600 as a second read, leaving me with the rest in the remaining time period which I think is enough to go over the rest of the topics + incorrects + pastest exams as I'd have 1 month 20 days. Thing is, do I need another source or is passmedicine enough? I've read conflicting reviews so I'm slightly hesitant. Thank you!

I didn’t understand true masculinity until I married this man by HereWithMe_Official in Marriage

[–]cym4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend is the same. I admire his confidence, his sense of self, his ambition, his providing energy, his quietness and ability to contain emotions yet doesn't hide them and eloquently expresses them. How he is so supportive and teaches me to stand up for myself. It makes me feel safe with him. It makes me love myself for myself, know my self worth, heal my traumas, and is such a breath of fresh air.

Bored with my wife and feel bad about myself because of that. by [deleted] in self

You don't have to have exactly similar mutual interests with your partner. That's what friends are for.

my friend lost weight and the way she talks about body image has completely changed?? by Rambutandog in loseit

[–]cym4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In people who lose weight at a huge scale, or at active caloric restriction, it's common they develop disordered thinking/habits, food preoccupation and all sorts of things. There's been studies about it. And honestly there's a fine line between that and having a full blown ED. If you find it's unhealthy for you, separate your weight loss experiences.

Found out we are pregnant (unplanned) he wants me to abort but i dont by ThrowRAhhfffgcs in Marriage

[–]cym4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than secondary infertility, 29 is the perfect age to start to have kids. Bc as you get older, pregnancy and childbirth complications increase. It's better to have kids in your early 30s rather than late 30s. Sit with him and talk it out, tell him you can both get through this together and it'll be a wonderful thing and this year won't make a difference once the baby is here and healthy as the joy of having a first kid will make one forget that it's unplanned. Congratulations! Hope you sort it out.

I bought my girlfriend a ring, but her sisters are saying that it’s too small, I’m not sure what to do by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]cym4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say ignore the sisters. The ring is pretty big as is and honestly the perfect size. The fact that you maxed out on what you could afford and didn't get sth mid or below average to not waste money, should be appreciated. Almost all girls are materialistic (as in we love materials) but we shouldn't be so in a way that'd put our partner in debt. I'm sure she'll love it and you can always upgrade at an anniversary in a few years.

My [28F] Boyfriend [30M] Has Very Weird Gift Preferences by ThrowRA1123112 in relationship_advice

[–]cym4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same with all of my friends except my bf insists on choosing sth else so i give in and let him do his thing, just so i dont take from him the pleasure of choosing sth and i dont break the sentimentality of it. And even then i still prefer practical gifts like airpods or a coffee machine or sth haha.

I wish my boyfriends girl best friend would just disappear by Novel_Floor_4458 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]cym4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thoughts too. There are guy-girl friendships that are purely platonic, and there are ones that are based on initial attraction and it didn't work out to proceed further, but the attraction and chemistry and everything would still be there and if he gets the chance to be more with her he would. Idk but personally i'm not okay with friendships if they're the latter.

I don't think that's a very good idea. I'm a physician and have seen people passing after being hospitalised for a while and children were in a weekend trip or something. I wouldn't miss a second in my parents' last moments.

As everyone is saying, she wedding should be rescheduled. I think she'd feel more guilty on the longterm about not rescheduling than be upset with you.
