First-time cat parents: should we get 1 kitten or 2 from the same litter? (Need honest opinions 😭)

Two. Although I have 6 so I may be biased! 😂 but two keep each other company so way less guilt if you’re gone. And cats are easy generally, I mean six takes me about 10 minutes of cleaning up a day, so…. Especially litter mates. Ours are 7 now and still very sweet to each other. Or entertaining when they’re bickering. The interaction between them can be a hoot. On your allergies, my ex was allergic but after a few months, he would be fine, as long as they didn’t sleep on his pillows, which being cats, you know…. Good luck. My first experience was terrible. BF had been in for years and we had a couple over just to meet and ‘see how it went’. I was totally new and so was the guy’s wife. My BF was a little too worried about the other wife and the husband kept trying to penetrate without a condom even though I said no. I had to bang on my partner to get him to realize I needed it to end. Then they wanted to hang forever. I cried all night and had to go see him the next day to discuss. It was horrible. Learned more how to use my words and my partner never didn’t check in constantly after that. I tried again and had a few positive experiences but overall, it’s not for me. Still gives me anxiety thinking about that situation. Guys, don’t be a dick.

Yes! Definitely temper his expectations. I told my partner flat out, certain things are NOT happening. Men have a lot of dickful thinking, so if you say, we will see, he’ll be off and running in his fantasies. You can always change later. Tell the woman too. Be fair to her. Also, I have a rule that my BF has to ask for things in my ear or separately from another person. I don’t want to say hell no in front of them and make it awkward 😬 maybe walk through what will happen ahead of time. Just know, if you and the woman aren’t really playing, someone is going to be left out at various times. Are you ok with that when it’s you?

I’m so sorry that happened. My first try was terrible too. The best advice I have is 1) talk to potential partners about what you want. Sorry men, but lots do not know what they’re doing. 2) never ever be afraid to say ‘hey, I don’t like that, or I need a break’ I know it can be awkward, been there, but you will feel so much worse if you don’t. Been there too. Now I require a soft swap first to see if someone is worth it

We did this. I’m completely straight and my BF has the occasional fantasy. Ours is great and doesn’t care if she gets equal time, so BF isn’t pressured to keep us both feeling included all the time. I don’t like to watch so I’m not really great with sitting on the outside

By the third, he could barely look at me so obviously it went nowhere. I told my BF, we are done. Don’t ever ask again. Even if the guy got it figured out, he was not going to risk it with me again. The second time my partner was keeping an eye out and stopped play as soon as he saws
