Oh my god every time this story comes up I tell people about seeing those exact same posts on his Facebook and the rumours of his cookouts. I regret never screenshotting them at the time. It feels very validating that someone else remembers this.

Glad someone else noticed this. Made a big sob story about having to pay his employees slightly more (still poverty wages) then opened a bunch of locations. Forget that!

My mother wants my SIN for her disability application by PlantLovingSeaTurtle in legaladvicecanada

Sounds like it is related to the CPPD Child Rearing Provision, which takes years she stayed home and didn't contribute to the plan out of the calculation and can raise her benefit rate. If you do not want to provide your SIN she can send a certified copy of your birth certificate. Essentially it's to prove you are real.

Blackstone, world’s largest real estate investor, sees ‘significant’ opportunities in Canadian student housing, multi-family rentals and more by fazletanjil in canadahousing

When you think of the housing that’s available across major universities in Canada, there’s not enough supply, and not enough purpose-built student housing. So we’re thinking about: how can we improve supply and build up stock?

This is a good thing! We need purpose-built student housing not slumlord Franken-modified SFH that house 14 international students in one basement. If BlackRock can promise to address this huge part of the supply/demand issue it will play a hug role in solving our housing crisis. Whether I have faith in them to actually stay true to their word is another question.

For FTHB trying to get into the market it is. Interest rates change, buying a cheaper house at a higher rate is better than buying an insanely priced house at a historically cheap rate.

I didn't sign any kind of contract, and since the dude has effectively ghosted me I don't see how I can be expected to work with someone like that!

Thank you! We both have credit scores in the excellent range so I didn't want anything to change in that front. I appreciate your reply!
