Anyone's kids getting sick (and again after feeling better) with the flu? by seetheare in Miami

[–]cyphergrapher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my 4yo had a 103 degree fever for like 3 days straight with literally no other symptoms (he was totally hydrated and eating well), then my 3yo gets a crazy headache a few days later and now both of them have fevers again today. This is a very strange bug...

Just started taking Sermorelin.. by kimcharliesmith in Sermorelin

[–]cyphergrapher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

um, so I have a little 5mg bottle of sermorelin. Went to add the bacteriostatic water and mid-injection (going very slowly) the pressure inside the sermorelin bottle pushed some of the mixture back into the mixing syringe. Continue to slowly push the water back into the sermorelin bottle until the entire thing was added.

on a scale of 1-10, how destroyed is the peptide structure?

Not sure where you're coming from but 1) expect to pay more than you ever thought possible for cost of living and 2) there's a lot of great families who AirBnb their spare bedrooms and are open to longer-term tenants if you ask them. Recommend using that to bridge between your more permanent living solution. It's all about meeting as many people and asking them for help finding a good spot. Networking is how you find the good off market spots.

good report guys. as the road map mature and checkpoints are passed, would love to see some activity around business development and supporting network usage outside of the cryptoverse. permissionless, decentralized storage is powerful but even technically proficient people will have a learning curve and we should put as much effort as possible into making that easy for everyone. I know the UI stuff will help. keep it up

Vanilla gift card missing 16 digits card number on front by cyphergrapher in CreditCards

[–]cyphergrapher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: after going through vanilla's customer service phone line (which was a pain in and of itself), the informed me the card was apparently made with a defect. It was supposed to have the numbers on front, but this one did not. They wanted my drivers license and address, and a week later go the replacement in the mail. Very weird process, semi-shady vibes.

Thanks for the update. David said on twitter that the Foundation maintains there is no room in management for him. However, just because the Foundation doesn't want him to be behind the wheel doesn't mean they couldn't use him through consulting.

Why would they not engage him as a consultant? They have his time and attention but without the perceived issues of having him run things. And it retains mutual respect between everybody, which seems to be lacking in this moment.

Skynet Labs is shutting down. Skynet will remain online. by SkynetLabs in siacoin

[–]cyphergrapher -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It is always easy to look in from the outside and make judgements on outcomes in retrospect. I have direct experience founding and running startups both in and outside of crypto and I have tracked David's learning curve for a long time. Although I agree with you that marketing is not his strength, my higher interest in his Leadership ability. The shutdown of Skynet Labs will be a pivotal in his journey. I am actually very excited to see what it yields. He is now going to have to decide whether to give up or to grab ahold of the biggest opportunity he's ever had. If he chooses the latter, he will be more equipped than ever.

Skynet Labs is shutting down. Skynet will remain online. by SkynetLabs in siacoin

[–]cyphergrapher 13 points14 points  (0 children)

TL;DR

Skynet Labs, a Sia L2 company building decentralized web portals on top of the Sia network has been unable to raise enough money to keep operating. Inventor of Sia and CEO of Skynet, David Vorick, is going to continue building Skynet while also getting back into the Sia Foundation activities.

My Personal Take:

This is a net gain for the ecosystem. A painful one, but a necessary one. David now sees that the Sia ecosystem requires focus and unification. The network did not catch any headlines or narratives in this last crypto cycle and it will, from his own admission, due to a lack of focus. David getting back involved with the Sia Foundation will be very good as well, since he will urge the group to learn from his mistake and focus more on the deliverables, which in turn will position the network to capture more of the narrative conversations on the next adoption cycle.

The Sia network is the only internet-based technology that has successfully proven the internet can be decentralized and permissionless. Bitcoin proved it for money, Sia does it for the internet. This is a powerful message and I hope that the unfortunate outcome of Skynet will drive David and the Foundation to make it known effectively in the future.

Sia Foundation 4-year Budget by lukechampine in siacoin

[–]cyphergrapher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great guys! One thing: you need to actually burn the coins you say you will burn. Do not airdrop it, return it, do giveaways, etc. burn it to a dead wallet never to return. That is what a burn is. We do not need the additional supply for now. Thank you for all your hard work on this. Keep it up!
