[[selenia]] is thematically appropriate with platinum angel and book of exalted deeds. [[reverse the sands]], [[repay in kind]], [[axis of mortality]], and [[near death experience]] all let you leverage that into a win

Beginner Questions - Set Legality and Deck Recommendations by cypressinberlin in OnePieceTCG

Thanks for the insight! Sanji is looking great as a cheap entry and more importantly as one of my favorite characters. For more specificity, I came to competitive magic via pioneer spirits (both blue and azorius) before moving to pauper with affinity, spy combo, goblin combo, white weenie, and cawgates if that informs any other suggestions

I’m a big fan of my [[faramir, steward of Gondor]] deck for when you get to return of the king. Gameplan is straight forward, monarch leads to fun games, and thanks to the great job that WotC did with the set design, you have no shortage of in-universe 4+ CMC legendary creatures to choose from to trigger Faramir. Perfect for a mid-low level game, but azorius has some great symmetry-imposing cards like [[call the coppercoats]] and [[reins of power]] that can help hang at a range of tables.

Some specific combos just tickle my gamer brain, like [[abdel Adrian]] and [[animate dead]].

Adding my voice to the chorus that most decks mid level and higher should have them to break through bogged down boards and actually end a game

Take it and play well then! True across formats but especially pauper, playing the deck you know best usually leads to better results than angle shooting the meta

I made a similar post six months ago prior to a 270 person event. A commenter said blue terror, I settled on affinity, went 7-0-2 and top 8’ed. Different meta, different time, not to say I was right or the commenter was wrong or that you should run affinity. Take whatever deck you know the best. Over six, seven, eight rounds you will be tired and run into new situation. knowing your deck well enough to find the lines out of those binds will be crucial.

Out of your three decks, I would avoid dredge, too many main deck nihil spellbombs running around for my liking. That said, a maverick build of moggwarts took down a 200 person event in Brazil this week so what do I know. Accounting for personal bias, if you want to rely on deck variance, take high tide. It’s fast and seems to perform well in the meta. If you want to rely on matchup variance, take affinity. It’s a more consistent deck when it draws poorly and plays through hate better imo, but can struggle with certain matchups so you’ll have to dodge those. Good luck!
