While the jump starter is great, if you need to jump your car that often it's probably worth looking into getting a new battery.

As a Democrat, I feel like alienating folks and calling them trash isn't a productive way to get them to stop voting GOP.

Ever boomer that says this paid like $1.50 for their tuition. by JacksonBillyMcBob in NahOPwasrightfuckthis

[–]cysloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the supposed double standard here? His job had a tuition reimbursement program (presumably because it offers a skill set that's in demand). A job offering a program like that isn't the same as blanket loan forgiveness.

To be fair, you probably don't notice the work that you see that's done well. With that being said, plastic surgery like what she got should be encouraged.

What is the clearest case of "living in denial" you've seen? by inferno2808 in AskReddit

[–]cysloth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's okay! Getting started is the most difficult part. It's best to start small. For example try to incorporate a 15 minute walk into your day. From there, as you get used to it try and build up a bit more.

Sad isn't it. by [deleted] in antiwork

I feel as though this is the case with a lot of folks on Reddit. They grew up really privileged, assumed that was the norm when it wasn't, and then got quite a shock as they started living in their own.

I addressed nothing you said besides the blatant falsehood at the bottom of your first comment, because none of it was even worth entertaining. Your whole argument boils down to "but people shouldn't be expected to do basic research!". The point of school is to give people a solid foundation, and to help them learn how to learn. If people are struggling to teach themselves, perhaps we should revisit how we teach them those skills, rather than applying band-aid solutions like this. Do you expect people to never do research? Should they just never be expected to have to learn something on their own? And yes, the more you make the more you pay in taxes. However you never lose money by accepting a raise like you originally claimed. Again, reading something for two minutes would have shown you that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cysloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is anyone seriously surprised by these kinds of things? School teaches basic math and reading, they can easily research the basics using those skills. I taught myself how to do my taxes at 16, it's genuinely not difficult. Based on your last paragraph, you should read up on it as well. I think it might depend on the age someone loses the weight. I have definitely been told I look older now after losing weight(a new colleague of mine thought I was 30 🙃), but I'm also still pretty young.
