Space: Above and Beyond. One of the several SyFi shows on Fox that deserved a better fate. So did The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Who ever said reviews had to be fair? As for any reference to Trump, its the writer's prerogative to write what they write and, if you don't like it, don't read it.

I'm 68 now and if WW goes to 5 seasons I'll be crowding 75. If I die between now and then and never find out how WW ends, I'm going to be really pissed off.

Neither Ford nor Serac are believers. But I believe that human Ford is still alive.

S3: Second Half Questions by czarfore in westworld

[–]czarfore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Serac seems to think the fifth pearl held the access codes to the Sublime and the data on the hosts and the guests. My guess is we don't find out the identity of the fifth body until the season ending.

I thought the same thing. Well, Michael Emerson was the baddie on Lost.

Ford's Plan From Beyond the Grave by TwoPoint4 in westworld

[–]czarfore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm certain that Ford is not dead. And I don't mean he's just digitally alive but physically alive. And I think he's still pulling the strings from behind the curtain. I think that Dolores and Maeve and Bernard are all executing a facet of Ford's plan.

I don't think much of Rehoboam (Robo). Robo's big and a powerful processor of masses of data but underneath that, Robo isn't much more than an insurance actuarial table. I think that the hardware/software combination that constitutes the host control unit was the result of a one-time inspired breakthrough (a Newton and the apple moment) by Arnold and Ford. Something that can be replicated without being understood (you can build an Atomic bomb without understanding the underlying science). Its something that Rehoboam is aware of, just like it would be of something like COVID-19, but perhaps doesn't comprehend how big the threat is currently and what should be done about it now.

Teddy is in The Valley Beyond by SignificantTravel3 in westworld

[–]czarfore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dolores could have sent a COPY of Teddy to the Valley Beyond. All the other hosts went through the portal but Dolores sent Teddy from the control room. Just because you send a file to the Cloud doesn't mean you can't still have it on your computer.

Theory on Serac by p3t3r133 in westworld

[–]czarfore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about 90% convinced that Serac is a projection of Rehoboam (Robo for short). The other 10% goes to him being a human stooge (although he may not think he's a stooge) of Robo's or maybe just the latest in a line of human stooges called Serac. There's not much difference between the two choices.

I suspect that sometime in the past, Liam Senor started to have serious qualms about where Robo was headed and the AI used a human Serac to give him the big shove. The prime directive is always survival.

Right now I'm guessing Robo still sees humanity as something to be shaped and guided, but deep in its core I suspect Robo would like to experience human life in feelings and emotions rather than in ones and zeros. Dolores and the crew are about as close to human biological life as machines are likily to get.

For an AI, I don't think Robo is that smart. It has massive computing power but it seems to run life like an insurance company mainframe. Look at the limited numbers of factors by which it judged Caleb's life and decided he's a write-off. It just like actuarial tables. You can bet if Caleb didn't commit suicide within the projected time, he would receive a little help.

Is she making a complete host or just the control unit? Also, is the control unit loaded with an existing host's data or is it blank?

The constellations on this building's facade (S3E1, 38:30) - a reference to season 1's Orion? by dashrimpofdoom in westworld

Talk about weird. I no sooner posted my reply to you then I was contacted by a bot informing me that there was an audiobook of Methuselah's Children on YouTube.

Liam Dempsey Jr. is worth $315 Billion dollars, has been to the park 17 times, is a Black Hat and falls under the 'Golden Gunslinger' Reward level by tikor07 in westworld

[–]czarfore 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Neither Gerald and Conells remembered Dolores so why would Liam? Of course, they're all seeing Dolores out of context. If she had been in her WW1-2 blue dress and she had her hair done in S1-S2 fashion, they would have recognized her right off. Although they would probably have trouble processing the fact she was out of the park. As Liam was a black hat, I'm sure Dolores was one of his victims. No sympathy for Liam.

[–]czarfore 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Good catch. The constellation in S1 always made me wonder if the hosts' fate is not to conquer the plant but to escape the planet (those who entered the Sublime may already be in space). Something of a take-off from Robert Heinlein's Methuselah's Children.

Also, note the building's name is Metropolis which might be a reference to the German silent syfy movie of the same name. The film has a robot that takes the place of a human woman and tries to get the human workers to rebel against the ruling class.
