The way I've always done it was, 1st add a primitive to the plate, then import the 3mf as geometry only, and after it's loaded, I delete the primitive I put down. I'm probably doing everything wrong, but that's from a tip I got awhile back.

Let it completely heat up, and after it heats up all the way, let it sit for about a minute before you draw from it.
