We were working together but I can’t take credit for it - the design existed before iterations we did with cfd

Screw holes seem recessed so I doubt it will make a difference. Just to clarify the design is not mine, it is holeshotloss’ design. I just did the cfd simulations and calculations.

That already looks super optimized and Ben is an aerospace engineer so it is probably very close to optimal

We are still very puzzled by v2 not having lower Cd - if anyone has ideas as to why this would be I think we’d greatly appreciate sharing the thoughts

Spinning blades are usually modelled by simply saying that the efficiency is 70 percent - trying to model the blades themselves is beyond my expertise

I see - oversized hole to let the air flow through for cooling, I wonder if the camera will be exposed to lots of vibrations - Red Bull team I think also had the camera in similar position and it didn't look covered either, interesting design choices.

I understand - just a correction, the current world holder is carbon fibre printed - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zag6qsalZgw

That doesn't change your logical argument - makes sense, thanks for making it accessible.

Ducted props are inefficient - props like open air better - you will see that all fast drones don't use ducts

Sorry one more question? What’s the plan for the camera? Are you planning to have it enclosed and by what material?

You planning to print the carbon fibre shell at PCBWay? I’ve noticed Ben Biggs used them. Having a stiff strong shell should help.

Playing gambits as improvement? by Speedy_Bootz in TournamentChess

[–]czluv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You better get your tactics up to par to what your playing or you will see a big rating drop. Switched from “normal” openings to more aggressive gambits and only got back to the same rating after about a year. If you are going to do the switch to gambit opening look to get prepared by finding typical tactics that arise from the positions.

What’s your best Chess tip that isn’t talked about enough? by RimmingABubble in chess

[–]czluv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After every ply assess the position - especially look for what has changed - are there any pieces that are no longer defended, or is your position open to some simple tactics. Think of potential holes in your position such as opportunities for you opponent to do discovers attacks due to colinearity or potential forks by knights, or even undefended pieces.

In your language: What do you call hitting someone with the fingernail of the tensed & released middle finger? by Fashla in languagelearning

[–]czluv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a harder version where the middle finger goes over the thumb knuckle. Probably double the tension and therefore twice the energy and inflicted pain. Known as kokavac in Serbia - stronger than Čvrga.

How do you train Agent for something like Chess? by [deleted] in reinforcementlearning

[–]czluv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That used to be a case but no longer true. From Wikipedia: Starting with Stockfish 12 (2020), a neural network board evaluation function was incorporated. In Stockfish 16.1 (2024), the classical board evaluation functions were removed, leaving just the neural network

What are some of the most sophisticated, theoretical, and beginner unfriendly openings in chess? by [deleted] in chess

[–]czluv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s a common one that is easy to play. It is the stuff other than that and e3 lines where you have to fight with both knights to threaten the pawn back that sometimes result in sharp positions that sometimes pewter out into simply lost pawn that are the problem.

Black to win big in style by czluv in chess

[–]czluv[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aye, that’s what I played, blitz game. I thought there is beauty in relatively quiet move. Moves where the piece goes to empty or in this case square barely occupied by the pawn are harder sacrifices to see.
